I'm not a visual artist myself, so this is coming from someone with an untrained, non-professional eye, but there's something about the proportions here that just looks ... off. The mouse's body appears to be weirdly shortened?

Could be the way he is sitting, I think. But I am not an artist either.

@endangeredomega and bpr2-He's probably a victim of foreshortening. Seriously, the human figure is roughly 7.5 heads tall, but a cartoon mouse can be anywhere from 2.5 to 3 heads.
