This is spectacularly beautiful. I usually just go for the house cats but I would definitely buy this one. GMV

Very nice but is it just me or does the 3 circles and red line distract from the piece as a whole?

I really want to like this, but the copy-pasted skulls at the top are killing it for me :/ Wish I could see a resub on this, but obviously it is doing very well so advising that would be selfish :P

This would look great on my cat.

Beautiful design! I really like the red, the circles, and the swirls at the edge of the lion's mane. They add a dramatic element to the lion that is a nice artistic accent.

I'm distracted by the eyes though... not sure if it's the symmetry or the color difference that's doing it, but it seems off to me.

I'd still buy one

This one, followed closely by the entry aptly named "The Artist," are far and away the most technically proficient and skill-requiring works of art in this derby.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing inherently bad about a funny sketch with an amusing concept, but this ... this is just stunning.

Yep, find circle and red slash distracting. Otherwise gorgeous. The crown is a nice touch. Wish you would resubmit without the circle/slash. I think it might outdo this one.

Maybe I'm not seeing this the way it's supposed to be seen (or am just reading too much into it based on previous kdeuce submissions)- but the crown at the top looks like 2 skulls to me, flipped in opposite directions. I absolutely love this design, and it would force me to break my vow of abstinence from shirt buying if it prints. But the asymmetrical coloring of the eyes is kinda throwing me... It looks like one might be damaged or something. :/
but i disagree with a lot of the other people, The circles and color streaks are wonderful, they kinda remind me of a lens flare and they give it some very unique visual elements.

I didn't think they were skulls, but thought they were cat-shapes? A bit distracting for me, but the difference in eye shading bothers me more.

Everything else, I like... even the circles and red splatter.

I like the crown iconography, the flourishes and the difference in the eyes. The derbies produce a lot wonderful designs, but I do care about what I'm wearing and what other people think of me. Having said that, I would definitely wear this shirt.

This is probably the best shirt I've seen on Woot! When I saw the derby title I was like oh great, we're gonna see a lot of cartoony cats, but this shirt takes the cake. got my vote!

I think it is a crown, for king of the jungle, not skulls.

Anyway, they are clearly not skulls. It is a crown and he has stylized flourishes emanating from it similar to those seen here:

It makes complete sense that they are mirror images of one another because it's a radially symmetrical object. Run along now and leave the design to the professionals.

On another note, this design has a very King of Kings vibe to it. Not sure if it's intentional or if anyone else is getting that but it's a bit off putting for me.

In all seriousness... really nice. I winced when I saw the derby topic but this delivers. Will buy one for sure when it prints. And it will.

i like the details such as the circles, crown, heterochromic eyes, and especially the red splatter. makes it seem like a lion that has just come out victorious in a gruesome battle

yes, that's it, at first I only saw a crown, but then upon further inspection I saw two kitties, not skulls. Funny how our brains work, lol.

I am immensely disappointed this didn't even place. Sigh... if this gets printed else where please message me with a link to it.

The system fails again, more cutesy prints and the only thing I'd wear gets short changed.

How the hell did this not print? Makes me wonder how many people even wear the shirts they buy. A lot of the stuff that wins are things I would never wear in public, but I would wear this in public. Oh well : /
