Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
Wow. Just wow. This is awesome.
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette

I simply cannot own too many slogan shirts. Love it!!!
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
My dad had a TRS-80 with an 8" drive when I was growing up. Ah memories.
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
This is so good! I don't even have anything to complain about! ;)
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
All of my money! Take it!
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
Best year ever! Certainly deserves this awesome shirt. +1 from another 1971 baby.
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
Not to be a bummer, but those disks were in fact read and write. (1967 here)

Actually the IBM 23FD That was introduced in 1971 was read only. Disks were introduced to the public after this version were also read and write. Look at the table here need the bottom of the page
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
If you really want to be scared, some of the computers used to launch the US ICBMs still use these.
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
Too funny! Just last week at work we were discussing the transition from punchcards to floppy disks, and how more than one of these new-fangled disks ended up with a staple through it... Doh!!
Yet another awesome design by firefrogh...sure hope you get a print soon! ![]()
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
Arggh. I love it, but it's totally unwearable for me in those colors.
Unfortunate, because the colors are perfect for the design.
I love the design and all, but the rules were no text. Doesn't this shirt break that rule? (Yah, I'm a noobie here, so think about that before flaming me!
)

Tarento,
Actually, the rule is no text only designs. There must be a graphic element such as the floppy disk or star. No rule breaking here.
I'm glad you like the design,
Firefrogh
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
I so wish this shirt wasn't on green!! Ahhh
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
YES. Love it.
Edit: apparently I broke my sig >.<
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
idk; cardboard enclosure? they were made in plastic envelopes...
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
like the colors and the layout
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
WANT!
Re: 1971-Floppy Diskette
In for 1 as soon as I saw this! Awesome design; love the vintage look. The text is absolutely hilarious, and my BF is going to be getting this as a big surpise XD
And yay for using a not-often-used shirt color too. Woot ends up having faaar too many green and black shirts (variety is awesome, people!)
wvutkep1002 wrote:idk; cardboard enclosure? they were made in plastic envelopes...
I think the disk was made and then put in a plastic sleeve. Then the envelope that it was stored in was cardboard, thus the cardboard enclosure.
