Ha Ha Ha...That Is Funny!
Re: Curiosity
flippin' hilarious! plus, there's nine of them! that cat is not coming back. truly clever. +1
Re: Curiosity
This is the best damn entry in this derby hands down. There are so many layers to it and the story it tells! Aaah! Voted.
Re: Curiosity
I don't know if you can get much better with just one color.

How is this one color? Its like 30 colors (or shades of grey)... I don't get it, thought this was one color deign comp only... sheesh.

I'm guessing the "shades of grey" are created with halftones on the darker colored shirt. Putting lighter screened halftones of white on a darker background would make it look like there are 30+ colors. I think it's expertly executed halftoning.
Re: Curiosity
looool! Nice one, collin. The background is really nice, too!
Re: Curiosity
Finally a cat shirt I would consider wearing! (that's closer than I've ever been before)
Re: Curiosity
I feel guilty for liking this, being a cat lover! lol! Definitely well thought out though!
This is really something. Beautiful work and quite humorous, yet so detailed. You even numbered the photo evidence markers. This should print along with Patrick's ninja shirt.
I forgot to mention I love cats! ![]()

Lol, I hate cats (as pets) and I love this too!
Re: Curiosity
You do know cats aren't toys don't you?
I like everything about this Collin. Terribly good.
Re: Curiosity
Clever. Just kind of wish it wasn't on this color. (I have too many already)
Re: Curiosity
I'll be shocked if this doesn't make it. Pretty darn clever and well done to boot.
Re: Curiosity
Oh My Goodness!! Not only do I want this on a shirt, but I think this would make an incredible poster.
That's right, Woot, please put this on a POSTER someday soon!!
Great work, Collinvh. Love the little de-tails like the evidence markers and the outline of the tail on the street grate. Awesome, just awesome.
Edit: And a tote bag, and maybe something else. Whatever you put this design on, I will buy.
Re: Curiosity
I remember someone overreacted and got really upset about Spiritgreen's design in the Kitties derbies.
I wonder what she would think about this one...
Re: Curiosity
Im curious as to what they were curious about! Maybe I should be careful...
Re: Curiosity
It's insane how clever this is. Not a cat fan but had to vote for it just because of its genius. Congratulations on your superior mind.
Re: Curiosity
Re: Curiosity
This is amazing Collin , perfectly done and very clever, sure print and probably 1st. +1
Re: Curiosity
I couldn't wear this (like most woot shirts anymore) but I must commend the idea. It is great. And made so much beter by the fact that curiosity is a 9 letter word. It matches up perfectly.
This is freakin' awesome! Very clever!
Re: Curiosity
Was he trying to cross the road? Was he following a chicken? I love cats, but I'm gonna vote for this anyway because after 4 or 5 times that kitty should have learned his lesson.
And I like how the cops are taking his death so seriously.
Re: Curiosity
This shirt is very clever & extremely well done. It makes me wish I weren't feeling so overdosed on Woot cat shirts & asphalt shirts because it deserves to print.
jmgenens wrote:I love cats, but "cat shirts" really aren't my style.
THIS however I would totally wear!
I'm pulling for you, and hoping this heals my heart over the loss of the Dali inspired T that didn't make it this weekend.
I loved your Dali inspired T.... Along with many other people. Keep up the great work. ![]()

I believe the poster was referring to THIS entry by cpresti. Just want to be sure I give credit where credit is due. Especially since I really enjoyed this design also. Thankfully, woot! awarded it an honorable mention and we all get another shot at voting it up in the next double take.
Thank you so much everyone for the comments so far, they're amazing. This shirt was a blast to create and I have my fingers crossed for this weekend.
Re: Curiosity
The rejectinator will kill the cat before curiosity. More than one ink color, even if it's just different shades of gray.

I think what you're observing as more than one ink color is just expert use of halftones, giving the illusion of different shades and colors. Same thing with your comment on the Steampunk entry.

Sadly at least with this shirt there is still a slight chance that this may not be printable with a single screen. For reference see this rejection from the "Crosshatch" derby: http://shirt.woot.com/Derby/Entry.aspx?id=47396
I'm hoping this one will stay since I like it a lot, but I'm not sure. The rejection for the other one was very late so I have no idea if this is safe or not.
Re: Curiosity
There's a certain beauty to curiosity's being a nine-letter word. This discovery, alone, should make this shirt win.
Re: Curiosity
just bought one. this is the best design i've seen in a LONG time.
Re: Curiosity
Congratulations, Collin, for a wonderful idea and design and first place! You are so deserving.
