Re: The Start of Spring

I got several requests to do a spring-themed version of my Vivaldi's Winter design, so here it is I tried to give it an organic feel while keepin with the musical elements throughout the design. Hope you guys enjoy the outcome.

I love your work, I really hope this one gets made. Music is a huge passion for me and I don't have many music shirts to express it. This one would be a great fit.

Similar idea, but I feel like the colors and actual design of this one are so much more appealing. And this one is much more intricate.

Thanks for the kind words on this design I know this isn't the first tree with music notes, but I think the added concept with the song and the very different execution set this one apart.

This is beautiful, as a Vivaldi "fan" I can hear the music! <3

Yeah, well that's just like your opinion man. Just because you think it's more "appealing" and "intricate" doesn't mean it isn't essentially the same shirt.

Are musical notes not considered text? If not, that opens up some nice possibilities.

If having music notes and a tree on a shirt makes them "essentially the same shirt" then somebody should go speak with every person who ever puts a cute animal, ninja, zombie, [insert typical woot-ism here] on a shirt. Designs much more similar to shirts that already exist have passed, so I see no reason why this one wouldn't.

And of course it's my opinion, whose else would it be? Discussions such as these are entirely dependent on opinion.

I think Ramy should get some credit considering half the fogging shirts right now are cutesy animals (not that there's anything wrong with that) which people always give him crap for drawing. He didn't go that route, and he's still in the fog. He went outside the norm and did something creative. So forgive me if I get irked when people still try to call him out for something like that.

This is a very fun tree! I want a tree like that! If I could vote, you'd have it!

Woohoo! Glad to see this idea resurface, and in an even more artistic form. Great work, ramyb. I was so disappointed when Vivaldi's Winter didn't even fetch a Editor's Choice.

That other shirt is a random collection of musical notes in place of leaves, which while pleasant, I think is enough different from this, whose main point is to be Vivaldi's Spring, with the actual notes of the beginning of the song going up the trunk, and only then devolving into random notes in place of leaves. I dunno, maybe it feels different enough to me because there's actual music on this one and the tree is a pun on the song chosen.

I'm proud of you Ramy, for branching out (har har) and doing a different design than your cutesy animals. You have a nice feel for glowy-designs.

This is a very sharp design, you got my vote for sure. My only critique is that something feels a little off with the 'weight' of the tree. I realize that a major part of the concept was to get the notes of a specific phrase into the trunk of the tree, but as a result the trunk feels a little tall for the size of the branching above. Overall, very cool, and I hope it wins.

This would tempt me as well!

In other news, I turned it to the side and sang it to myself, then smiled

Think it would've been even more on theme if you'd gone with Stravinsky, but nice shirt all the same!
