Was the "their" on purpose? Not to be a grammar I wanted you guys to know I'm ignorant but it should be "they're"

Type-Os....typos....

Wow I can't believe this has to be spelled out (no pun intended). It's a play on words, "Type O" as in blood type and "typo" as in misspelled words. The whole shirt has typos ("teh" and "marsgmellow").
Get it?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW.... I'm dumb.
Re: Type-O's
This is absolutely brilliant. And on an underused shirt color, too!

Re: Type-O's
I like this but I'm not sure I want people staring at me trying to understand it...
Re: Type-O's
I think it would have been pretty cool if "Hemogoblin" wasn't a typo. I wonder what a hemogoblin looks like...
DJTweekNYC wrote:Was the "their" on purpose? Not to be a grammar I wanted you guys to know I'm ignorant but it should be "they're"
I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a typo... but it's not. It's just bad grammar.
DJTweekNYC wrote:WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW.... I'm dumb.
I had the same problem - I was going down the path of the blood theme and didn't realize it was a double theme.
Also, I was still processing the concept of big, smiling blood cells splashing around in a cereal bowl. ![]()

ditto. all the pluses and minuses were a nice touch too, but after reading the comments... ohhhhhhhh.....
Re: Type-O's
This is so much awesomer than the others. Good luck with the derby. +1
Re: Type-O's
Vampires have to eat too, right?
For added realism, defective +/- cereal bits are part of the typos.
GMV.
It's punception! Pun within a pun!

You mean poor grammar.

you mean hemoglobin??
eabernhardt wrote:You mean poor grammar.
ORLY? I see what you did tharr.
"Poor" and "bad" *are* synonyms after a fashion, so you are somewhat correct...
However, my original word choice was intentional as I tend to view the subject of grammar in black and white, correct and incorrect, acceptable and unacceptable.
I'm ok with 1337 and all that jazz in the proper forums and usually love them as jokes... I just don't think that incorrect grammar fits as well with this joke than the rest of the well thought-out design.
(A quick check in Merriam Webster actually provides "bad grammar" as an example under the sixth definition of "bad." Funneh.)
Re: Type-O's
Go Team Edward, lol
No really, very cool desing. The vampire (as in Blade, not Tinkerbell mentioned before) in me approves this shirt!

I'm confused. Are you saying grammar mistakes aren't considered typos? I thought it was funny. Still do, in fact.

Seriously, you've never typo'ed the wrong there/their/they're? I have, several times. Just because it's a common grammar mistake doesn't mean it can't be a typo as well.

It does in fact mean it isn't a typo when you don't know what the correct way to use a word. Typo's are when you make a mistake while -get this- TYPING... If I said, have a peace of pie, that wouldn't be a typo, but rather I just used the wrong word. I don't get how you can argue it is a typo when you in fact yourself say it is a common grammar mistake...
chickenfiend wrote:I'm confused. Are you saying grammar mistakes aren't considered typos? I thought it was funny. Still do, in fact.
That's exactly what I'm saying.
Typos come from clumsy fingers, not ignorance. Every instruction I've ever received on editing classifies spelling errors and grammar mistakes separately from typos.
I think the shirt is funny, but that one inconsistency would bother me so much that I wouldn't be able to wear it.
I don't expect everyone to be as "OCD" about silly grammar mistakes as I am; I was just hoping for a V2.

I tend to agree, except: Sometimes when typing, one's fingers sort of run away with a word. They begin typing the intended word, but end up finishing a different word. Although you can't see it because I corrected them, I had the following typoes in my preceding comment (actually, I'll just paste the original, pre-edited form as a demo):
"I tend to agree ,except: Sometimes when typing, one's fingers sorf of run away witha word. They bygin typing the intended work, but end iup finished a different word. Although you *can* see it ... "

I agree. I got the blood type pun first, then the misspelled words, but still stared at "their" for a while wondering what I was missing. I eventually decided that it's supposed to be another typo but is actually a grammatical error that would bother me too much to allow me to wear the shirt.

This is easily one of the best shirts I've seen in a woot derby, and that's no small feat!
I'd love to get my hands on this shirt.
