Re: The Tyger
I worked this design to almost completion several times, but felt each time that it was overdesigned. I ultimately decided to go for something simple but striking. Hope you guys enjoy the outcome ![]()

Love William Blake!
Re: The Tyger
Well, I am unfamiliar with the reference, but this looks unbelievably wicked enough to stand alone, I think, so +1 regardless ![]()
Re: The Tyger
I would think this is a Chinese reference... but regardless it looks amazing!
Re: The Tyger
"Tyger, tyger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?"
Great shirt!
Re: The Tyger
This is honestly the first shirt in my years of coming to Woot that has made me want to comment. The sense of movement you let this illustration have is wonderful. GMV =)

Love the poem... but the thing I notice here is that while it's obviously a big cat on fire, it doesn't look much like a tiger.

Re: The Tyger
Oh man, I saw the title and really hoped it would somehow relate to "The Stars My Destination."
Still cool thought.
Re: The Tyger
My teenage son and daughter will have to flip a coin for this one!
Another amazing design by the very talented ramyb!

It's a reference to "The Tyger" by William Blake, one of my favorites.
I remember way back in junior high choir, singing a song that was adapted from this poem. The shirt is brilliant and I pray that if it does not win, it at least places so I can purchase one.
Well done, very well done!
Re: The Tyger
I had thought of doing making a shirt design with this poem in mind, but I must say you did a much better job. I hope this one makes it!
Re: The Tyger
Beautiful. I want this shirt. *_* Only one in the derby so far to GMV.

This tiger art is gorgeous. If this doesn't print, there is something fundamentally wrong with the universe.
Re: The Tyger
I will buy this if it prints. Frikkin love lions and tigers. And bears. No pun intended.
Re: The Tyger
Don't know what that tyger's goal is, but i don't like where he's headed...

That pretty well sums up the poem.

Less is more, definitely. :^)

I also sang a song in choir adapted from tyger! tyger! I must have this shirt!
Re: The Tyger
I love, love, love this design. My only concern - will part of the tyger be hidden when I tuck it in? (I'm too small to wear shirts untucked).I hope they keep this in mind when printing because ♥ I MUST HAVE THIS ♥
i will be stalking this derby to find out the results of this shirt. my daughter is a huge tiger fan - and we are currently stockpiling gifts for her June birthday.
Re: The Tyger
I always link this poem back to the Spiderman comic run "Kraven's Last Hunt" from the 80's. This was featured in the narative throughout the story. But I think maybe it was changed to "spyder, spyder burning bright....." I can't remember.
+1

Bester's novel does of course reference the Blake poem (and was originally titled "Tiger! Tiger!") so yes, it does.

Well yeah, obviously. I suppose what I really meant was that I was hoping for Gully Foyle's menacing face on a tee shirt : )
