Re: A Little Victory - 'To a mouse'

Raiding the wheat shed, the tiniest of victories matter a whole lot to a mouse. ^__^

This is based on the work of Scotland's most famous poet Robbie Burns',"To a mouse".

Excerpt:
"I doubt not, sometimes, but you may steal;
What then? Poor beast, you must live!
An odd ear in twenty-four sheaves
Is a small request;
I will get a blessing with what is left,
And never miss it."

Aw, thanks guys! I'm trying to keep my designs really simple at the moment - conservin' energy. I had a good time drawing this.

I hope the pattern conveys the idea of stacked up wheat sheaves okay. :^)

What, you pass over haggis and whiskey for mice and wheat? o.O

But mark the Rustic, haggis fed,
The trembling earth resounds his tread.
Clap in his walie nieve a blade,
He'll mak it whissle;
An' legs an' arms, an' heads will sned,
Like taps o' thrissle.

My speech is not parsing. I am speaking in ellipsis.

It looks like you have wicker baskets in the background. Great simplistic drawing!

Very cute! You should do simple more often. I really like the way you focused in on the characters!

I had to read this poem in high school. My teacher made me read it with a Scottish accent and everything.

I like how this turned out. Maybe it's more suitable for fall. :p

My favorite poem (even if it is a bit too true at times).

Great execution on this. Fantastic line weights. GMV
