Re: Little Boy

"Little Boy" was the codename for the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. It was the first atomic bomb to be used as a weapon.

This baby penguin is trying to be that "little boy" because he's not a baby anymore.

He looks a little bit more like "Fat Man", though, which was dropped on Nagasaki.

Re: Little Boy

If you had ever been to Hiroshima, which you obviously haven't, you would realize that this design is in very poor taste. I recommend that you go to Hiroshima, tour the museum there, and talk to several people who survived (yes, there were some) and then rethink this design. And yes, I have been to Hiroshima several times. Nothing cute or funny about it.

I was trying to play with the codename and with the fact that the baby penguin looks like an upside downl bomb. Maybe my mistake a to associate it with Hiroshima. My apologies to anyone that thinks this is offensive. It was never my intention. I would never do that.

My initial design was going to be without the radioactive logo and I was going to name it "What we should've sent". Like trying to say we should've sent "love" (in a cute form) instead of a destructive bomb. Maybe I tried to attached it to history to literally. Once again, I'm sorry if it offended anyone.

I'm to confused to be offended. I'm sure it made sense in your head, but sometimes things don't translate well when put onto paper, or shirt in this case.

Still single, can't imagine why.

Yes, that part of history is sad, including Pearl Harbor and so on. I think it is even more sad that their government made the choice, they were warned and warned again. People tend to forget that miserable part.

To enjoy life you must find humor where you can. I don't think he was making light of the event, just the shape of one of the most adorable creatures ever. Of course a newborn foal is right up there in adorableness, too.

Thank you for the explanation. Sorry that I came across too harsh. I like the "What we should've sent" idea. I'm glad to know what your intentions were. Nothing malicious and no offense taken.
