Oh, it's a peacock.
"The Feathers Fall"
Inspired by the works of French jewelry designer and glass artist Renee Lalique, with a little Mucha thrown in.

Gorgeous. The coloring on the peacock is amazing.
I like how the peacock's body was incorporated into the background a bit, but the other part just seems kinda there. I still love the design, it just seemed a little disjointed, the different components. If that's an aspect of the art nouveau style, feel free to totally disregard this!

Thank you from both of us! The framing in general is rather indicative of the style, but I kinda love the feeling that the natural elements (the tail specifically) refuse to be contained or boxed in.
Thanks for sharing; we always appreciate that!!

Just curious, what color shirt is this on? I'm having a little difficulty identifying it from the image.

I have to say I agree - the flow that the tail feathers lend to the design is disrupted by the box underneath it. The colors are fantastic though

I think it is stunning as is. I personally love the frames behind. It could be seen as an ornate fence with a peacock sitting on the top. I will buy if it wins.

WOW!!! I knew we'd have to watch you, noxandpy! This is great!
I'm curious about your team. So there are two of you? Who does what in the making of the design?
I know your first entry here was Little Miss Muffet so that would make this your 3rd or 4th entry? I wanna say 4th but I'm not quite sure. Congrats on making the fog and I hope it prints!

Ohmigosh! Thank everyone so much for all of your votes and kind words! This was not an easy entry for us, so Nox and I are super excited to see this fog!!
@allrealelements - It's on navy.
@leprechaungirl - Thank you!! This is our 4th derby/5th entry (we had two last week). Nox and I are "real life" friends who thought it would be fun to give shirt.woot a go. Nox is a fantastic artist, and I've commissioned her for work many times in the past.
Generally, when the derby is announced, we brainstorm a little together, but it's my responsibility to come up with the idea and any references Nox might need. Then she does the art and we edit together. I handle the admin (write-ups, entries, emails, etc.).
It's a lot of fun (usually) as a process, but will be a lot easier when she doesn't live half way across the country LOL!

I like the layout of the frames, but I wish they had more color in them like the bird does.

Beautiful design! The colors bring this shirt to life. Peacocks are my favorite so I will definitely purchase this shirt! Great job

All I can think of when I see this is the recent reddit guy who had an escaped peacock in his driveway...

Eep, that hasn't happened yet has it? This is my favorite design to come around in some time (I'm a fan of peacocks) and I'd love to vote for it.

Not yet!
It will probably be in the next month or two, if my calculations are anywhere close to accurate (which I make no claims to! :P )
ETA - Or you can ignore me because THIS WEEK is the double take derby! :D
