Re: Hello Universe

Supernova! The deaths of ancient stars gave birth to new elements through nuclear fusion, and those elements in turn became the building blocks of our planet and all life upon it.
As Carl Sagan said, we are all "Star stuff".

Hello Universe. :^)

See a BIG VERSION here. This is 3 inks on an asphalt shirt.

Thanks for looking, please vote if you like this design!

Thanks omar. I put a lot of work into the explosion!

I think I may have geeked out too much about the concept and science and not communicated it very effectively. I like it how it turned out, but maybe it's a bit impenetrable. Ah well. :^)

Re: Hello Universe

I love this concept. The rendering of the super nova is extraordinary and it goes well with your person-graphic. I'm just not fond of the way the chemical equations seem superimposed, not part of, the image.

If you had worked them in more, or used a different font, or something... this would certainly have my vote, and I'd be begging my friends to vote for it, too. I'd really want it.

Thanks lucky, wirdou and tangolite.

And thanks sleekhare for the thoughtful feedback. I think you're right, hopefully I can take another shot and improve this sometime. :^)

Re: Hello Universe

Sweet, thanks for that video L3g3ndQ.

@sleekhare, I reworked the text so that it's exploding from the supernova. This would probably have been a better way to go:

Love the concept, it's just that the colors make it nearly impossible to read some of the print.

Also, just to nerd out, the dominant pathway for carbon production via fusion is... He + He + He = C

Definitely loving the dimension your changes added.

The slight blending of the text into the graphic is a nice touch as well. Lends an air of uncertainty to "concrete"-ness of the chemical equations.
