After you make a purchase you can vote for shirts in the derby.

Steve was... eaten... by a bear. That's their story and they're sticking to it. ;3

Cute concept. My only gripe is that Lewis and Clark are their last names, not first. I do think Steve is funny, but to history folk, it might bug them a bit.

Love the concept and the art! Only thing I don't like it the square-ness of it. Maybe get rid of the sky in the background and put it on a lighter/more sepia shirt color (cream or brown). I love it otherwise!

Examine Bindle of Carrots.
What Bindle of Carrots?

Steve forgot his last name and it has been lost to the ages.

LOVE it! I teach 4th graders about Lewis and Clark, it would be fun to see their reaction.

I also think that it's placed just outside the max area for a print. Woot, if they printed this, would make that much smaller than it's currently displayed. They won't print sleeve to sleeve.

Unless the template is off, it's correct.

Or, perhaps, make it more like a frame from a daily newspaper comic and go the black and white route (the lettering and feel would work for this).

Back east, United States elementary school history focuses on Founding Fathers (northeast), and Civil War (southeast) but out west Lewis and Clark are emphasized.

It will only bug them if they either don't understand the concept or have no sense of humor...

Actually, Steve is his last name. Theophilus Steve. The family name used to be Stevedore, but when Theophilus complained that his name was too long, his parents shortened the name to Steve. It used to p!$$ him off, until he met Meriwether Lewis and figured at least he didn't share a name with one of the fairies from Sleeping Beauty.

This is a really cute shirt, but actually my main gripe is that Lewis & Clarke were actually a threesome - with Sacagawea, the pregnant Shoshone woman who interpreted for them, guided them during the expedition, and in fact saved their lives and their journals at different points during the expedition.

True, but using Sacagawea for comedic purposes would have been in poor taste. Plus, if you want to get really technical, there were dozens of people on the expedition and that would have made for a very long shirt.

Sacagawea is just waiting for Steve to get eaten by a bear, then she'll rejoin them.

By the way, what's up with the crazy quote thing? >.<

That's actually not true either. Lewis and Clarke had an entire team they traveled with. They were just the leaders of the expedition. they often met up with several tribes of Native Americans whom they spent days trading and traveling with. This concept that Lewis and Clarke traveled alone and only with Sacagawea is a romanticized version.

I don't get it. I'm British and haven't got much of an understanding of American history. I know Lewis & Clark led some sort of expedition, but who's Steve? Anyone care to explain it to me? Thank you

Steve is a joke. He's not based on a real historical figure.
