Re: Work Smarter, Not Harder

First time commenter here.

I would like to state first that this is a very cute design! But there is something that is slightly bugging me about the image of the ant on the rolling Oreo. If he is running in the direction that all the other ants are walking, the Oreo would be rolling backwards away from the destination. He would need to be facing backwards and running to go in the correct direction, perhaps waving at his little and buddies as he is speeding by

This. Maybe have him looking back (forward) over his shoulder. Otherwise... love.

Love the concept, love the art.

But in the words of a prominent theoretical physicist, "I cannot change the laws of Physics, Captain!"

I agree on this one, the shirt is "buyable" with that change, so if you decide to reupload it corrected you sir GMV

Re: Work Smarter, Not Harder

This may not work, but I was thinking that the ant on the oreo could be standing up and leaning back, as if he was running backward (I'm thinking of the funny walk the WB frog would do). That way the ant would be facing the same direction as the others, can have a triumphant expression, and perhaps settle the issue of moving in the right direction. Sorry if this is a bit muddled (and just plain wrong), I swear it made some sense in my mind as I tried to picture it all.

Gotta agree. Love the idea, but the other guys in the Science department here would mock me mercilessly.

Re: Work Smarter, Not Harder

I was more worried by the fact that the rolling one would be moving too fast to stay in line without crushing the others. And that the ants only have 4 appendages!

But it's a delightful idea!

Wait, why can't he just be running backward? This must be the case.

Who cares. Hopefully no one is staring at your chest long enough to figure that out. Its a visual gag and at first glance it works. It is only ruined when you have time to over think it. I think if he were facing the other way, people would ask you why he is going in the other direction and then you would have to spend time pointing the physics out.

I see where you are coming from, but for me personally, I noticed a "wrongness" immediately. Then 2 seconds later it hit me what it was. But I agree that it isn't a huge deal and the joke still works. I was just trying to point it out quickly so that if the artist chose to there was time to resub with it modified.

If the ant on the cookie was fixed I would be buying one. However I am a stickler like that and cannot in my right mind vote for something I see as wrong from the get go.

But you're fine with the rest of it, despite the fact that in reality ants don't carry things on their backs, walk on two legs or run on Oreo cookies. Seriously?

+1 Plus, as it is a still pic, I don't see why he isn't running "backwards."

Yes, sad to say. I'm not even particularly good with Science/physics, but it just felt 'off' to me and after a few seconds it dawned on me why.

That being said, my boyfriend is a civil engineer (with a focus on geotechnical engineering) and he is really good at Science/physics, but when I showed it to him he didn't notice anything odd about it.

I guess it is really just up the the wearer.
