Re: Pipette carefully

Isn't this a leeeeeeetle too similar to MJ's printed Loose Dips Sink Chips?
Maybe no one else sees it? Maybe this is a ramyb/MJ collaboration? Maybe it's a really popular pun phrase and drawing/lettering style? But for me, not knowing, it's just a bit too close for comfort.

They're both based on a famous poster so it makes sense that they look similar to it (and each other):

Based on not only one of the most famous propaganda posters ever created, but also one of the most parodied. Oy vey.

You wound me, my dear. Aye, it is true, you have ferreted out the evil at the heart of my being: for all my genius, my vast founts of knowledge both common and esoteric, my extraordinarily kind yet keen wisdom and generosity of spirit... verily, there are shameful gaps even within this perfect-seeming core of being that is goldenthorn! Oy vey, indeed! *runs away sobbing and wailing and being all ashamed and embarrassed and rilly rilly silly*

The "oy vey" from my comment was, in large part, a response to what seems like a more enthusiastic effort to get entries disqualified. It is not surprising that someone used this poster for inspiration. I believe it was mentioned in the pre-derby thread.

If rules are broken or other works are genuinely plagiarized, then I'm all for that being pointed out. However, that wasn't the case here.

Oh, dear. How very much you misinterpreted my initial post (and, I suspect, my queries in that other entry's thread in this derby)! That is quite unfortunate. Genuine questions with no ulterior motives other than a desire for elucidation and illumination, I assure you. Liberally doused with irreverance, an innate skepticism, and a tendency to exaggerate what I do and do not know, of course--that's probably what got you. Well, I am sorry for my communicating-badly mistakes! It's what happens with the voice I take when I don't consider my "audience."

Ah, the classic forum response of "you misunderstood my tone."

ETA - It is used often, by many. At times, that's completely true. Not meant as a comment other than "you misunderstood me" is often mentioned on the forums.

Sigh. No. If you have issues with me, I would appreciate you PM-ing me. Otherwise, I will leave this be now.

Glad to hear someone say that. I called out the great Ramyb on their obvious plagiarism but we'll see where that goes.

This design is not, in my opinion, an example of plagiarism. It's parody, which is allowed.

Are you saying you think RamyB be a plurality?

What science joke am I missing through not recognizing the abbreviation "ChIPs"? Or alternatively, not knowing more about the process of making computer chips? Google has been unhelpful. I assume there must be a joke, otherwise I can't see that the slogan makes sense.

ChIP refers to Chromatin Immunoprecipitation, if that helps
