Re: The Grin Within
Nice, except this has been done before and very similarly to this.

Oh cool! Looks like they used the Cheshire cat grin for reference/inspiration for theirs as well. Thankfully this derby is a "costume tee" design contest so my design works. Since the tee is suppose to look like your dressed up in a costume I figured a black witches cat with a big toothy grim would like the Cheshire cat would work nicely. People seem to be voting for it so I'm pretty pleased with it.

Think that one you posted is a licensed Cheshire Cat design from the Alice movie and not a black cat. At least the tag on it looks like Alice. Seems like the Cheshire cat had blue eyes and stripes in that movie...though I'm not positive.

The issue is that the shirt you submitted looks very similar to the Alice shirt. That you designed yours as a costume doesn't make it any less similar to an existing shirt, and it will likely be rejected on those grounds.

I think if admin went that route then over half of all submissions would have to be rejected because "similar" designs have been done and sold. Mine is a Witch's Black Cat not a Cheshire Cat the description explains the design so admin can review it. Thanks for the comment. ![]()

Really? You're sticking with that story?

This is not just similar, it's almost identical to not only existing shirts, but to shirts that contain a copyrighted character.
When the rejectionator wakes up I'd be shocked if this, the iron man, and chewbacca shirts aren't rejected for pretty much the same reason.

Yep. Rejectionator just woke up and is making the rounds. I do wish he would come by sooner however so artists have more time to make new designs.

Note sure about your use of the air quotes, but really. The comments were not made to diss your design, but as a heads up.
Take it as you will. No one was being mean.
