I love, LOVE, LOVE the drawing, but I really don't get the text. It seems completely unnecessary, and I feel like I'm missing a joke with the "Fig. 1" bit. I don't think I would buy the shirt with the text unless the text is adding something extra clever.

Hisserbee, the text refers to the classic book figure...like if you had your English literature book and you found this picture when studying Shakespeare For me it adds some extra fun

I love the text, but my first thought was a book on botany...such as - Pears have been cultivated for 3000 years, and most species are bred to be edible. Some however are bred to be decorative. (fig 1.)
