Someone already posted this Threadless shirt.

you've gotta be kidding me....
I did a google shirt for "operation tee shirt" and did a threadless shirt for "operation" and the only thing I found was a no longer available shirt in the google search... couldn't find any actively being sold ANYWHERE.
I give up... my two best ideas this week were already done somewhere else...
So much for today's work...sigh...
*cries*

geekfactor was being exceptionally nice, and tried to help prevent this by posting a bunch of them that she found, they are on page 1 of the derby forum. Make sure you consult before idea 3. ![]()

I'd duck and cover, Tgent. daring to imply that a shirt was printed elsewhere will set off the loonies.
Though really, this is incredibly blatant, in ways even Rob isn't. This isn't even similar concept, this is almost the exact same shirt. And it's not like it's a matter of never browsing threadless this week, either. A number of shirts are near identical to shirts posted at the beginning of this derby's thread.

This was idea 3, actually... but there is no idea 4 for me. I have to head out of town. Won't be back until Monday....and that will be too late for more entries.

Idid a google search for "operation tee shirt" and a threadless shirt for "operation" before designing this one... couldn't find em.. I then did a search for "opeartion the game" and used the real game as a basis for making my vectors, so I'd have at least something similar to the original game pieces as far as looks go. The shadows were from making a inner/outer shadow filter, merging it with another layer to get the filter off, then deleting the non shadow parts from the new layer.

Really? Because I googled Threadless Operation Shirt and it was the first result. You need to work on your google-fu, my friend.

yeah it's also shown on a guy and a baby on the 1st page of pictures if you just type "operation shirt" Sorry Keyser. ![]()

hmm, google of "operation tee shirt" works too.
geekfactor12 wrote:Really? Because I googled Threadless Operation Shirt and it was the first result. You need to work on your google-fu, my friend.
I googled "operation tee shirt" and then i went to threadless and did a catologue search for "operation". I'll try your approach next time.
Oh well.... so much for this week.
Buy all.
bluchez wrote:hmm, google of "operation tee shirt" works too.
yeah...that finds the one result that i found... but that was a shir tthat is NO LONGER available.... thus I thought it wouldn't count as "being sold elsewhere"

still shows for sale for me? who knows. gl finding time for your next idea.

Whoever prints it, it is a cool shirt.

So awesome threadless is nearly sold out
I could've sworn I've seen this before and turns out I was right.

Are you the artist that did that?
Re: Operation
:\ Near replica of the Threadless t-shirt. Too bad, I would've picked this one up definitely.
Re: Operation
Nope...wasn't me that did those others. As I said, I didn't find 'em when I did my search, but apparently I suck at searching for shirts on threadless.... I assumed that typing in "operation" in their catologue search was what I needed to do to see if it was out there. I was wrong..
Alas... I did have a LONG drive today (8 hours bcz of traffic.. should have taken 5). ANd now I must sleep.
keyser520 wrote:Nope...wasn't me that did those others. As I said, I didn't find 'em when I did my search, but apparently I suck at searching for shirts on threadless....
Since "your" design is almost identical to this I'd say you are pretty good at searching for shirts on Threadless, and then copying them.
I look forward to your "Vote For Pedro" design someday.
kriscad wrote:be cool if they can print this right
Do you people just not read anything? how is this still atop the hotness when it's a blatant plagiarism of a threadless shirt that is still for sale?!??!?!

i believe you googled operation tee shirt, because the threadless shirt is the first link that comes up! It's even the same color...same four pieces in the same position...come on man...just terrible.

Guys, enough with the "this is blatantly copied" and all of that. We got it, threadless has it. ^_~ It's going to get rejected. Again, we got that.
Something else to consider is the actual game. If I made a shirt like this it would end up looking a lot like either one, because the game looks like this:
It is actually possible that an image of the game pieces were traced and not the other shirt. In fact, now you can say that they're both unoriginal if you prefer. But please, lay off a little. Please?
There are subtle differences which make me think that it is not simply traced, like the shape and layout of the wishbone. Don't get me wrong, I believe it will and should be rejected, but give Kesney a break, guys. These things happen.
@Keyser - I'm a culprit of this too because I wubble wasting designs, but you may want to take this down. If nothing else, you can take it down once it's rejected, assuming it hasn't been more than 24 hours (if anyone doens't know, that's what the little red X in the corner is. ^_~). I also think I figured out why you didn't find the threadless shirts. I was looking for examples of the game and Googled "operation game" and it only came up with that unavailable shirt, which was on the second page. Next time try a little harder or ask the forums, 'kay? If it exists, they'll usually know. It would've saved you tons of time too. ^_^

Not to be a I wuvs you!, but... typing operation in the catalog search brought up that shirt as a result with no problem.

It's rejected because you can already buy it. At Threadless.

It's like sold out now cuz of the shirt design on woot, XD

Thanks. I really would wubble to be accused of stealing shirt designs, because it's a really silly thing to do... obviously, someone is going to find the design and then it will get rejected. Unfortunately, for me, both of my "best" designs this derby were ones that had already been implemented... the Inigo Montoya one was done, slightly diferently, and the operation one was done pretty darn close to the same way. I was headed out of town Friday at 4, and had just had the Inigo shirt rejected. I had a coulpe ideas of a shirt to do, but all of them would have taken far more than the 3 hours I had left. I went to lunch and had the operation idea hit me, and came back to make the shirt. Unfortunately, I didn't find it when I did the search. It's quite frustrating... but, alas... that's life.
Anyways, I've had a great weekend teaching a dance workshop, and I'll see you all next Friday at noon :-)
