Aside from winning first, second, or third, getting editors choice or honorable mention, I can't think of a more prestigious award! (There... isn't a more prestigious award is there?)

I'm grateful people like it, and deeply honored that you (and other people) have found the shirt merit worthy.

Actually...it's not so much the placement as I wish there was something differentiating them a little more. Or that they were a little further apart. But honestly, I really dig it.

Nah... They don't hate ya. You're just Pre-Famous! When you're the next Ramy... I can tell everybody that I voted for ya way back when.

THEY'LL be all like, "Right, Whateva!" and then I'LL be all like "Tell 'em Striker138!" and YOU'LL be all like "Psh... who are YOU?" and I bet SOMEBODY will be all like "OH... SNAP"

... Sorry ...

I'm just lucky to be teaming up with a graphic artist in the family. Without them I'd be nothing... Certainly not a "Best Loser"

Besides... You just need the right subject and POW right-outta-tha-park!

Panel 2: In fear, knowing what's coming, boy grabs hold of his desk for dear life (incidentally dropping the paper in such a way that we can see the failing grade). Girl, seeing claw pass by overhead (with motion lines to show it's not done moving back yet), looks back to see where it's going.

Panel 3: Claw has grabbed boy and dragged him back out of frame so quickly as to (a) elicit symbols of pain and/or swearing and (b) cause girl to drop her pencil (complete with cartoon-figure eraser with arms) in shock and fear.

Title: Girl realizes she needs to work her tail off, or else it could be her getting dragged away next time.

MadamAtom, thank you so much. Woot can't be a total loss if there's at least one person willing to give designs a little bit of thought. You were spot on, which really makes me wonder what lives these people who couldn't understand this must lead.

Time to buy stock in helmets.

I don't think I've seen it anywhere either. I simply meant that it seemed like something I would see at Threadless...it has a Threadless-y vibe to it. I'm still saddened it didn't get more votes.

Re: Class Time Used Effectively

Again, thanks for the comments! Looks like there is a new contender in the Fog.. :o Even if I don't get printed, I hope to put it up on a different site later since I had so much fun with this entry. :3 So if anyone has suggestions/thoughts about where I should get it printed, or how I should do this (anything at all) all comments would be truly appreciated!!

As soon as I can get it printed, I will post the link in the next Woot Derby submission I enter (My website is under heavy construction at the moment :x).

Thank you, everyone, for your support throughout!! Regardless of the outcome tomorrow, I had fun and will be looking forward to the next derby topic... >3 tehehe

You get a big, fat "Pffffft" for that comment. Out of all the nice comments you received regarding the design, all you could do was pull out the negative about a few people (including myself) missing the reason for the claw? Lots of us liked your illustration style and the colors you used, and many stopped by to say that, so I'd say it's not a total loss just because we all didn't totally get the concept initially.

I agree, it's not a total loss, which is what I said. I truly am glad that people like the illustration style, but it worries me that other people choose to write replies on the internet instead of think. Worries me in my pants.

Incidental text is text that doesn't "make" the design. That is, you could lose the text and it would still make sense. In this case, the whole design is BASED on the text - the numbers 6, 7 and 9.

As an example of incidental text, consider a bottle of glue. Now you wouldn't need to have the words "glue" on the bottle and it would still make sense, so that text would be incidental.
