Getting paid money to goad people who suffer from righteous indignation...
THERE's a "disease" that's going to be incurable!

woot has never needed to be subtle about goading people. I'd like to imagine they're actually getting sick of it but, again, don't have the cojones. It's probably a very accurate description.
Remember: woot firmly believes that the cream will rise and the chaff will sink and the metaphors, tho mixed, will settle themselves. It's a stay-the-course mentality (and we all know how well that works out). At this point, changing things, even if they want to, would endanger all their sheep, because they've driven out just about every freethinker at the site. Changing is what their site needs, but it could come at a huge profit expense. It's a matter of being brave enough to do what's right regardless of consequence.
It's probably also part a matter of pressure from powers above them, and certainly above the consumers. Shirt.woot is not woot. It is another branch run by different people, but it is still owned by the guy who thought selling tacky, outdated, refurb'd electronics, and clearing out broken product for a buck, was a great way to do business. I'd be surprised if the greed bug hasn't hit the shirt-side too, but I'd be more surprised if they're not being pressured by the higher-ups to keep this disgusting status quo.
But yeah, I'm sure a bunch of people who don't even know how the reckoning chart works are probably way more correct than I am.
