Er, should that be Glamour™ instead of "Glamer"? (Sorry, all of my friends are going to insist it should be, regardless of your answer.) Nice shirt, otherwise.

Anybody else remember when -X AC was good as opposed to +X?

Guess I am too old for this shirt.

Well, the old school gamers know this has an AC of 10 and when in NetHack could be enchanted to +5 to help your overall AC without encumbrance. Aaaand if you're lucky a slogan: "Hello Nurse!"

Mmmmm...there's nothing tastier than crushed hopes, lightly grilled over the glowing embers of burning hopes sprinkled with some tear-moistened dream chips for that special smokey flavor.

Yum.

Shirt has TM:DNR on it as well.

World of warcrafty? really? Its condition is Gygaxian, the color is Mordenkainen’s Enrobing Slate. D&D all the way. What kind of geek are you? Arroint thee foul geek, hie the hence!

I want this so badly, but I'm afraid I'm not geek enough to wear it. Fellow geeks will know that I'm not quite as wonderful as they are, so the shirt seems like faking it; and my not-geeky friends will feel alienated. If I roll a d6, I'm buying it...

Hey now, let's not pull out the THAC0 rating systems.

I'm surprised this one hasn't been snatched up faster. Bought it without even consulting the wife.

Is there a bonus to saving throw vs significant other's wrath?

nottafinga wrote:Oh sure, Elvish sweatshop free...but is it Dwarvish sweatshop free??

Define "Dwarvish sweatshop". The only thing that dwarves would genuinely consider an adverse working condition is crafting items for an enemy while enslaved. Anything less, and the complaining dwarf would simply be dubbed a wee Mary by his fellow craftsmen and set to sweeping floors in the workshops.

And to everyone complaining about the non-pocket pocket--obviously, the pocket of holding requires a command word to open and close the aperture. If you do not receive a slip of scroll bearing the command word with your order, feel free to contact shirt.woot customer service or your local Aurora's Whole Realms Catalog representative.

First - 1e sucks, unless you're the DMs girlfriend.

Second - people, people - mithral has no inherent bonus to AC, and neither does adamantine. Mithril makes heavy armor lighter and adamantine provides DR. Now magic enhancements are another animal altogether. This cotton-T is, apparently, rocking a +10 bonus. That's insane.

Ahem, I seriously doubt woot is burning all those enchant scrolls on a $10 shirt. I don't even know if shirts can be enchanted that high. I call shenanigans.

... be prepared to have this same conversation every time someone understands this shirt. It should be called the "Shirt of Nerdy Correction" with a randomized charisma bonus, +3 / -3 charisma, if your universe keeps track of that stat.

No, it's definitely "glamer" -- see the D&D 3.5 SRD for "glamered":

A suit of armor with this ability appears normal. Upon command, the armor changes shape and form to assume the appearance of a normal set of clothing. The armor retains all its properties (including weight) when glamered. Only a true seeing spell or similar magic reveals the true nature of the armor when disguised.

SlyKamaui wrote:I am sitting here, sincerely trying to figure out the reason for the +10 AC.

As a Ranger, I am forced to wear light to medium armor, only providing about +4. Even with the mithril I could bring that up to a +5 no problem. Some might say it's the adamantine threading, but (at least by Pathfinder rules) that adds hardness rather than AC.

So whether I am harder to hit or just harder(in the abdomen of course), fine by me I suppose. :P

P.S. I love the shirt, but what with the Christmas season, don't have the spare kaching.

My guess would be that this is a 3/3.5 or 4e reference, and the +10 AC is the base AC that everyone gets. Perhaps? Still buying! =D

Noun

glamer
1.(archaic, Scotland) Noise.
2.(archaic, Scotland) The visual influence of a charm, causing people to see things differently from what they are. Hence, to cast a glamer is to cause a visual deception.

Edit: I get its a Prop Noun, but even dictionary.com says it clears the test otherwise

And none of them give +10 AC, which is nothing to sneeze at.

Non-magical cloth armor doesn't provide any AC bonus.. so to get a +10 enhancement bonus to AC this is clearly an epic magic item, increasing the base cost by +1,000,000 gp. Mithral doesn't really provide a significant function in this case, since cloth armor is already light and doesn't have an armor check penalty... I guess it just makes it nice and shiny. Adamantine increases hardness and gives damage reduction 1/-. Normally only armor that's made of metal can be crafted with mithral and adamantine, so this really is a pretty special suit of armor.

Technically in D&D, it should be "mithral" and not "mithril".
