Re: Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Where exactly is that place “over the rainbow?” Can it be found on Google Maps? Thanks for looking!

Might as well have a signature now since I have something to put into it.

Re: Inspired by “Love and Marriage”

Inspired by “Love and Marriage”

Whether you like it or not, the definition of Love and Marriage is evolving.

Frank Sinatra’s “Love and Marriage” (a song many people only recognize as the theme from Married... with Children which premiered in 1987) was first released in connection with a 1955 television performance of Thornton Wilder’s 1938 play Our Town--which is set in 1901.

Think about that: 1901, 1938, 1955, 1987.

And now 2013 .

Think about how the definition of Love and Marriage has changed through the years.

In 1901, women weren’t even enfranchised.
In 1938 there were miscegenation laws--laws forbidding interracial marriage--in 30 states.
By 1955, some of those laws had been repealed, but they weren’t all repealed until 1967.
In 1987, no country on Earth recognized same-sex unions--though two years later, the Netherlands became to the first.
And here we are now in 2013, and the definition of Love and Marriage continues to evolve...

It burns my eyes. I understand the words are on fire, but it just ends up looking blurry.

Cool idea and design. Would have like it better on a different color shirt.

Re: Inspired by “Love and Marriage”

By the way, I should get bonus points for this song's lyrics:

Love and marriage, love and marriage,
It's an institute you can't disparage.
Ask Travis Gentry and he will say it's elementary.

I looked and looked, but ThunderThighs did not appear anywhere in the lyrics...

Re: Inspired by Gunpowder Treason

The words GUNPOWDER TREASON have nothing to do with that image. You need to understand other points of data to get the interpretation, thus it's not really following the spirit of this derby. The image on it's own should provoke the title.
But don't worry, you probably won't get rejected, very few get rejected in these "interpretation" derbies.

See Gunpowder Treason/Plot, Guy Fawkes and Guy Fawkes Night.

Parliament was the target of the Gunpowder Treason (even though it's not the subject of Night's song).
