Re: Inspired by "Paint It Black"

Great looking shirt, but I can't bring myself to buy it since it will be on Anvil. My last 3 have been on Anvil and the quality is AWFUL. The front of the collar rolls in, making it look stupid. I've had AA shirts from Woot for over 3 years that don't do that but Anvil does it after 1 or 2 washes...frustrating...

Re: Inspired by Titanium

I wish you'd finished this to your satisfaction, it's probably my favorite thing I've ever seen you do.

That said, I've noticed you sometimes make really bold color choices, like yellow and cyan on black. I think a softer, more focused palette could have taken this design to the next level.

Oh, and I'm not a Guetta fan, but I love Sia!

Re: Kitty Purry (inspired by "I kissed a Girl")

With all the cat lovers, on this site, I have a feeling this would have done better, if it were submitted earlier.

It amazes me how many of these songs I have never heard of. It makes the shirt that much more confusing.

Cute idea, but on any other week, this would have been rejected (looks like the rejector took a vacation this week). Here's why:

1. Too many colors. The max is 6.
2. A bit too risque. woot usually likes to keep their designs PG.
3. copyright infringement. Your characters look too similar to the disney ones. and also for that reason...
4. No pop culture this week. i think disney movies count.

all that said, it's a cute design, just trying to help you out so you can keep subbing!

Re: Somebody to Love

Somebody to love for everyone.

Slippin in another late one.

"Lord - somebody - somebody, Can anybody find me - somebody to love?" - Q

"don't you want somebody to love
don't you need somebody to love
wouldn't you love somebody to love
you better find somebody to love" - JA

"I just need somebody to love,
I don't need too much, just somebody to love,
Somebody to love". -JB

edgrrrzzmom wrote:I'm not seeing the correlation between the lyrics and the illustration.

"The cat's in the cradle" - literally

"Little boy blue" - figure under the lamp

"Man in the moon" - image on the side of the cradel

"'When you coming home, Dad?' 'I don't know when.'" and, "Learned to walk while I was away" - car pulling in at night

"Planes to catch" - the mobile

"Thanks for the ball, Dad, c'mon let's play" - ball and mit on the floor

The only thing missing is a silver spoon!

I don't mind the boldness of his colors... It pends on the style... fits with these metallic art pieces more than the groundhog. I would like to see the drawings better tho... seems like u always fit the shirt composition on jpg.. maybe zoom in on the art and shrink the shirt comp?

sonofafish wrote:Man I love this album, but there are so many more illustrative titles. I would have loved to see an attempt at "My many smells." Still, bonus points for the reference. I like you, you're not like the other people here on Woot.

I agree almost every other song on the album would work better, but I liked the complete randomness of this.

And thanks to all that voted, that's 22 more votes than I thought I'd get.

fair enough, but even if the design can bear black bg + fully saturated colors, it can still be improved by more judicious picking. Full saturation like this works better on lighter colors, I feel; the black makes them pop a little too much. even just a 20% desat would improve this, and that takes literally 2 seconds.

Inspired by "White and Nerdy" by Weird Al. Especially the lines, "They see me roll on my Segway. I know in my heart they think I'm
