For those not in the know, Tau=2Pi and is considered by some to be the "truer" mathematical constant; i.e. it is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its radius. The reason it's more well liked is because 2Pi tends to turn up a lot more in equations than Pi itself does. Also, math tends to use the radius of a circle more than the diameter. So it makes more sense to have 6.28 be the constant rather than having to arbitrarily multiply the more commonly used radius by 2 in order to get to the diameter.

But πr^2 is a better equation than τr^2/2

Being a Mormon (and therefore participating in Baptism and Endowment by proxy) I love this shirt. I have never thought of myself as a vegetarian by proxy, but it's so true!

Hey, I'm not the one fighting for it!

The whole movement seems to have sprung from a thought of "kids can't remember equations where there's a 2 AND a Pi, so let's come up with something easier."
