Thanks, Viridian! I'm usually terrible at drawing women. I tried to get this one right.

Re: Butterfly Effect

I had the idea for this design previously, and this new theme lended itself for making the design this week.

Hope you enjoy it, and always remember:

I love, love, love this design but I am complete murder on a white t-shirt. Of course, I don't know that it would be a striking on another color so if it wins, I'll just have to wear it when I am not anywhere near food or beverages.

I have now altered this so that it does not have the lines/design of any existing car.

The linework doesn't seem to have translated to the smaller shirt comp view, so here is a larger version.

Hey buddy, CD and I have something similar in the works that I've been drawing up since yesterday. No zombies though. I wanted to just give a heads up so there are no hard feelings.

You piece looks great by the way!

I assure you that Tron had nothing to do with this, and this has nothing to do with Tron. ;D

But while we're on the subject (kind of), I went through a few color schemes. One was a reddish-orange, which stood out nicely, but I thought the aquamariiiiine tealy color was way better.

cwarfield82 wrote:I like the concept, but what did you change?

In the original, I had melded two cars from recent years. In this one, I purposely altered the aerodynamic shape and some of the interior lines so that it was no longer even close to the models. I had already worked these up last night, because I wanted the two cars, together, to be much more round (like an actual Yin-Yang symbol), though I ended up choosing the (now rejected) design, because I liked the overall shape a little better.

The cars are now much shorter, no longer really aerodynamic (as a real car would be for driving), but they now make the yin-yang much better, because together they are round (instead of an elongated oval).

No worries! This is a pretty literal interpretation of the theme, so I'm not surprised that you came up with something similar. I actually thought about you guys while I was drawing it.

Also, I pulled out some images of vintage bugs (which are a little more rounded), and they don't come close to matching this, because they have attached bumpers, and more exaggerated wheel-wells.

Re: Nocturne Nouveau

We wanted to try an experiment. Our first design is cute cartoon animal heavy - featuring an owl as the detail. This design is more realistic and more artistically in theme.

The experiment is to see which one generates more votes.

Here's the full sized image.

Note that the resubmitted design is much shorter than the new bugs or the old bugs, and that no VW Bug is as round, and even the older, rounder ones have much different lines to them:

When I was younger, I spent many weekends in Northern Wisconsin camping. I attempted to catch the beauty and grace of the crane in this one color design. I hope you enjoy it and please vote.
