Re: Zero my hero

Fun shirt! I've always loved how anything times 0 = 0. gmv

(I still have trouble understanding why any number (except 0) to the 0 power equals 1 though. But At least I memorized the rule.)

I am more than willing to bet that the percentages are exact. I'm better at eyeballing stuff like this than doing the actual math--- which is probably why I barely escaped high school geometry with a C minus-minus-minus for my grade!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... Yep! It's coming! The joy IS coming! So much so that I'm feeling an urge to start SINGING!

"I am the very model of a modern Major-General,
I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I know the kings of England, and I quote the fights historical
From Marathon to Waterloo, in order categorical;
I'm very well acquainted, too, with matters mathematical,
I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical,
About binomial theorem I'm teeming with a lot o' news,
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse.

Chorus:
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse.
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse.
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotepotenuse.

General:
I'm very good at integral and differential calculus;
I know the scientific names of beings animalculous:
In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I am the very model of a modern Major-General."

(from the Pirates of Penzance by Gilbert & Sullivan)

PS. Yes, ADQ, after I finished singing, I voted for your delightful design. lol

LOL! I'm kind of glad that I'm not the only one around here who is singing... Love this! gmv

PS. I'm editing this post to say that I just realized that this Henry the 8th comment is the 88th comment about the math Derby. What a crazy coincidence!

Wow... Your wife and I have some things in common...I am nuts about the (original) Music Man movie with Robert Preston.

I've never seen The Pirates of Penzance in movie form. But I have seen all 13 Gilbert & Sullivan operettas anywhere from 5 to 20 times apiece. So their songs often come to my mind for any and every occasion, including Woot Derbies.

YES the original music man movie, ONLY. The new one was a joke.
The movie was based on the stage production with Kevin Kline and Linda Ronstadt. They swapped the nurse maid with Angela Landsbury... VERY much worth a watch. My two favorite characters are the major general and the head police man, he looks like Borat, with the moves of the scarecrow.

I hope you're being sarcastic. You got constructive feedback (and a compliment). Sure you may lose the 3 votes by re-subbing, but how many have you missed out on due to the grammar issues?

I'd reconsider in this case, IMO.
