Actually, no - I was trying to make
1) a sea creature that would look like a giant squid, if viewed from one direction (thus the "eyes" in the middle of the body)
2) A creature like a tentacled shark if viewed from another direction (thus the "eye" on the left side of the body).
3) A Renaissance Mask and hood (viewed from the same direction as the squid), where the "tentacles" form the nape of the mask and the fourth "eye" (mouth covering) on the right.

Also, the sharktopus from the TV movie was shaped completely differently, just using the head of a Great White Shark on an octopus' body (which is different than this).
Also, this was meant to be paired with my other design, a dragon, which isn't exactly "pop culture". You might also look up the Lusca, a mythological sea monster that is a shark/octopus combination.
