Running through potential descriptive adjectives not used...hmmmm. Maybe I'll just say driving like a MarioKart fiend is one of my few vices and I want to wear this fly design doing it.

I love top-down perspectives, but the girl in the bottom right looks weird... 'compressed' I would say.

You've done Terry proud, guys. Excellent color palette for it too.

I've been a fan of the novels since the very beginning (over 30 years ago!). I wonder when The Watch tv series is going to arrive.

Re: Up the Trees? Down the Trees?

I really love the leaves. The vibrancy of the reds and greens is fantastic, but staring at it too long has started a migraine!

Seriously. I need to take an ibuprofen or something right now, which usually stops the visual migraine stuff fairly quickly.

Looking at the thumbnail, I can see 1 and 1/2 faces, but not two.

I don't know.

Haha! Sorry about that! Thanks for the compliments. I agree... I wouldn't wanna stare at this one too long. I'd like to improve this design, maybe with the connecting of the trees. What do you think?

This is likely to be rejected for non-parody use of a copyrighted character.

But I drew Totoro myself. Didnt use actual art. And he's the O's in his name. Those dont count?

Re: On the Road

Cool design, my work sponsors Turtle Expeditions (turtleexpedition.com) who travel all over the world in their camper. If they weren't in Greece on their way to Mongolia over the next couple years I'm sure they'd buy a ton of these!

It's an optical illusion like this:

It doesn't work quite as well from a drawing though. One 'view' is half of a face straight on, the other is a face in profile.

It's still a protected character, and that isn't parody. Showing the character in a setting that is completely outside of it's norm, yes...Say the character in Alice in Wonderland, instead of the Cheshire Cat.

@coconutman:
Thanks, coconutman. I'm not really happy with my designs sometimes. I try to make things other people will like, even if I wouldn't, but that probably isn't the best way to operate.
@nimrond:
