Don't forget, he had to swallow a red pill to complete the metamorphosis, but some of that process seemed to be intellectual. It makes more sense to show the external metamorphosis. Thanks for reminding us of that messy birth sequence. Maybe it's time to watch that movie again.

leslieh01 wrote:Can this be offered in another color shirt? I have so many dark shirts. Haha

One of the first things I noticed in the derbies was how many dark shirts were used, probably for contrast.
I wonder how different the tree would be with a green trunk and branches flowing out of green grass on a green shirt.

Re: Cat in Ivy

The outlines of the leaves and grass flow into and form the cat's shape.

Not the right files? Been there, done that, but I like the concept and execution all the same.

Thanks! This has never happened to me before. I recently started working off of Google Drive and forgot to synch my final version. Also, if my colors are ever off, it's because my sweeeet i7 /16gb / allspark rig broke, and I've been working off my wife's rinkydink laptop, which has a pretty poorly calibrated screen. But I'll replace it as soon as I get something printed here! [slowly turns and stares at woot staff].

Re: Evolution of fish

Like your concept. I think it looks best on black. I'd prefer a smartphone rather than the SLR. Nice work tho.

Re: Butterfly and Cacoon

Clever mandala shape.
Any particular reason to spell it "cacoon" instead of "cocoon"? It will be harder to do a search by title and find it.

On me. Not on my plate.
Wait... How do you wear a Woot derby T-shirt with wings on your back?
Guess the wings have to attach somewhere else.

Clever metamorphosis idea!
Any particular reason to spell it "Destine" instead of "Destiny"? Is that the grape's name?

Re: Meta-aint-nobody-got-time-for-that.

First time I looked, I missed the strings holding the wings on. The strings make the idea work!
IMHO, I'd like to see a pop of color for the strings.
Now I wonder if lacing down the back would work...for a Monarch caterpillar. :-)

Clever, and looks so simple.
What do you call the dots? Is this how we are supposed to achieve halftones?

Yes, the bottom feathers show up with more contrast and I see the change in the face better, too.
Definitely spooky-creepy.

Re: The Gneiss!

Can't believe no one has yet complimented you on a *gneiss* representation of metamorphosis.
The design is kind of compact and I would like to see it larger on the shirt.

I agree about both comments.
When does it work best to put a design off-center?
How did you get the dots and is that how we should do half-tones?

they are technically halftone, but not a traditional halftone pattern. i like to use them as a design element instead of a smooth gradient that's why they are so big.
i believe you can make your halftone however you like as long as it's a solid color.

Re: regeneration is coming

Okay, this design is off-topic when the whole idea of regeneration is the Doctor transforming into a new body; but the "C@t" design IS?

I mean, seriously... even if it was "C@" it wouldn't be all that "transformative."

How 'bout some consistency in the rejections?

I am sad that this isn't doing better. Adorable and clever deserve more votes.

My speech is not parsing. I am speaking in ellipsis.

I agree. And with a little wing action, this would be an adorable and clever animated GIF.

The original design suggests that you are what you eat, and if you eat flies, you get wings on your back!
I want to have wings. (Without eating flies.) But if the wings show up in the normal position, then I can't wear a woot T-shirt because it will interfere with wing action.
So the wings have to go somewhere else on my body.
Just trying to have fun with the idea of metamorphosis in this design.
