Yeah... But this is STAR WARS week. Yoda, darth vader, admiral Akbar. You name it. This is NOT the week for sweet little crime fighting girls. Although I'm sure we are all hoping that derby will come in the near future. I did not get the reference on the shirt until now, surprisingly.

I definitely plan to re-submit this one in the future... maybe with a slight revision (thinking of framing their heads with the explosion of the Death Star II).

*Sigh* Yeah, you know it was my mistake not reading what week it was. If I don't win I'll simply have to put this one in the 'attic' until it's useful.

Not sure if you're trolling (you're really including MS Paint designs?)...

For what it's worth, I came up with this design independently of those. After I had the idea and mocked up a design, I checked to see if anyone else had made a similar shirt, and decided that mine was distinctly different enough to go ahead with.

Re: YOLO Salacious Crumb

Sorry the quality doesn't look so good here. I use Procreate, which does a great job for drawing, but trying to change canvas sizes and keep it looking good? Not so much. I had to find a cropping program online, switch back and forth...sigh.
If anyone has experience with Procreate and knows how to crop a canvas using an existing (larger) piece of work and still keep the clarity, please let me know––I'd really appreciate it

People often come up with the same idea independently of one another; especially when referencing pop-culture. However; I disagree that your design is 'distinctly' different than the others.

None of the other designs have the individual color rays coming together to form the rainbow. I think that distinguishes it from the others. It also more closely resembles the cover design of Dark Side of the Moon than any of the other designs.

But I suppose it's all a moot point. It's been done before, and that's apparently all that matters. Simpsons did it, as it were.

Re: Who Fighters

Listen, I love Doctor Who as much as any Whovian. But I also love Star Wars, which is what this Derby is about. Can we give the Doctor a rest for just one week please? I don't think that's too much to ask.

What I would like to know is this:
Can I appeal this decision somehow? Or is it that simple - someone says it's been done before, and that's that?

I am pretty certain (having never entered a derby but having voted in most of them and having bought quite a few shirts) you can change it up so it is even less similar and resubmit to try again, but once woot has rejected it I don't think there is any way to appeal an already rejected design.

Re: May the Fourth

It's a very nice design! My only suggestion would be to make the shirt color black (like the trees) or the same blue color as your sky. That way your art won't seem boxed in, and you'll get a "freebee color" since the shirt color doesn't count as an ink.

Check out my work on Behance!
