just wanted to say i like the cites coast to coast shirt and voted for it. Def. some artistic license on the placement ;) good luck.

It's just a shame that these "artists" continue to deface public property without any consideration for other people!

Just stay out of those back alleys and move along, folks. There's obviously nothing to see here.

hey i must say i kind of like the blue subway shirt (you probably design stuff in a similar method to my own), and central car-park is pretty cool.

anyway, if you get the chance
please vote for "Looking up at the City"

Thanks! Whoever planned out where the big cities would be in America didn't think ahead to the time when I would be making a t-shirt of them, but whatever.

yeah i must say that is a pretty interesting design. i'd personally like to see some more black shirts on woot though. they don't have enough of them. even asphalt is ok i guess. (2 of 3 of mine this derby are asphalt and 1 is black) but black ones other than the autumn breeze and maybe meltdown rarely win/get printed)

Step 1: Purchase something from any of the Woot sites.

Step 2: Log into your Woot account.

Step 3: Go to http://shirt.woot.com/Derby/

Step 4: When you see something you like, click on the "I'D WANT ONE" link above the thumbnail.

Happy voting!

Thanks for the reminder. I tried to send my first design as a .png file with transparency to Goodstorm.com but it errored out the first try and just sat spinning the second, so I'm going with my fall back choice, Cafepress.

Yes, their prices are too high, and yes they use direct printing and not silk screening, however I've only set a $1.50 mark-up and you have a... well, not "wide," but certainly a range of color choices.

is this just because i submitted it late? or are there other things i should work on? maybe my thumbnail should be a close-up to show the detail? maybe my colours are poor? maybe i shouldn't have given it a stupid name? maybe my illustration is crap? what do you think?

any help would be much appreciated

Welcome to the Woot Derby, where much fun is had even though the voting is erratic as heck. I think your shirt is hands-down the best one this week- it's one of only a couple that I'd consider purchasing. I also really enjoyed your take on the theme- it reads pretty clearly as an innocent kid being corrupted by the big city, which is nice and complex.

Unfortunately, a big part of the Derby is seeing great shirts fail to attract the votes. It's hard to say what leads to a successful shirt here, but the key is usually to appeal to the most people possible. Your design runs into trouble because it has some polarizing elements- fifties-style illustration, smoking, and a child.

Based on the skill and experimentation shown in this entry, though, I think you might want to try submitting directly to Woot in the future. Assuming that you are creating vector files, I think they'd be into selling your stuff. (And of course, keep submitting to the Derby as well- but do it because it is a good time, not because you need to win.)

Yes, I've had trouble trying to upload to GoodStorm too. I would like to play with it more since the price difference is so significant. If I figure out some tips and tricks for setting things up, I'll post it on my site.

I'm checking them out, but I don't know... when trying to update my account information, it wouldn't take unless I changed my email address and input my password in three places. Then when I tried to change my email address back to the one I wanted to use I got the same error and it lost everything that I'd changed.

Also, when setting up the store, all of the text telling me to check out the terms of service, etc, was just that. Text. Not links. And now that I'm done I don't see any links to the t.o.s.

Clicking "Policies" and "Agreement" just brings up large type-size all caps "PENDING INFORMATION FROM CLIENT".

"Terms & Conditions" & "Privacy" at the bottom of my store page ( http://www.thattshirtsite.com/studio262/ ) are also not actually links. They look like the other links, but they don't go anywhere.

Lastly, looking at their "stock shirt" designs... it all looks like clip art, and not good clip art.

I don't know... I hope I don't regret giving this site my email address.
