I'm just impressed that this is still on the list after 59 weeks!

I bought this shirt when it first came out. Now over a year later, I've worn it enough that it's starting to fade and it has a hole in it. I finally caved and ordered a replacement so I can keep spreading the truth about the cake. ;)

Here's to having this shirt immortalized in a hall of fame!

waaco, you can totally buy it again if you made a purchase once already. Many people have purchased 'replacement' shirts. It's only 1st day sales you can't buy multiples (except the 3 at one time) at the $10 price

It's very good timing for her, and definitely deserved.

This was an easy prediction, it was the worst shirt out of the 52 week classics, so I would have put so much money down on this sticking around and scurvy leaving, because thats what happens when the majority of the masses are stupid and ignorant.


Remember, smart people are hard to come by, maybe one in 100 people born have some sort of higher right brained activity than the rest of the sheeple masses.

The "cake is a lie" phrase did not originate with Portal, if you look it up a bit, it came from the idea of downloading something and expecting one thing, but when you get it it's not what you wanted. It was most commonly used by pedophiles who downloaded what they thought was cp and received something totally different, in which case the "cake" was the cp they were expecting to receive.

"The cake is a liar" is (potentially) funny even if you never played Portal. I had never heard of Portal when I first saw the shirt and I bought it. If it was a direct quote ("the cake is a lie") only Portal players would get it and even then it's not particularly interesting or creative--it's just a quote from the game.

Anyone who has dieted can get the idea of "lying" food.

i just played Portal and finally realized what this shirt is all about. I'd seen it plenty of times but never looked at the discussion thread so I had no idea of the Portal reference. Now I believe I'm going to have to buy the shirt just to sport my love of Portal. That is one of the most innovative games ive ever played. So after over a year of me wondering why this shirt lasted so long, I'm going to take the plunge myself.

I found it funny and bought it because I'm a diabetic and know that cake is evil and will kill you! But NOW, knowing the 'inside' on it makes it that much greater!

hey jakeyl, haven't seen you post for awhile (I really enjoyed seeing the pics of the shirts). I'm glad somebody responded to one of my clever one lined ridiculously irrelevant comments and got a good laugh (I have quite a few, especially when posting after 10 pm ET). As for the weather, better days are ahead. I always like listening to this song during the gloomy times.

Hehehe, I certainly have missed taking pics of the shirts too, sorry if I came off like a jerk, I tend to post things than think about it later. I always come off more upset and like a jerk than I really am, and usually regret saying a lot of things I do. ADD, ADHD whatever you want to call it. I can get so frustrated and upset, then I post things, then 30 minutes go by and I read what I type and go "Did I really say all that? Wow, I could care less about it now, why the heck did I get so frustrated!?!" Hehehe, oh well thats just who I am I suppose. No offense intended in the previous post by the way, none personally anyways ;)


EDIT: But I still stand by what I said about this shirt. I almost want to start PAYING people to NOT buy this shirt so it will just vanish, as it should have long before SCURVY! I'm still bitter.

I finally got around to buying this shirt. Can't believe it's still up.

Also, to those people who don't like it, so what. I don't like the Fat Unicorn shirt, and it's been up for over a year. I don't go on that board and tell people they are dumb for liking it. That's the glory of woot! Everyday is a new day to get something more awesomer than the last.
