Without spoiling anything, cake was a primary motivation tool that one of the characters in Portal used. There were messages scattered throughout the levels, in hidden areas, about the existence of cake.

I can't believe they brought this shirt back. This is the worst shirt I've EVER seen them try to sell (and I've seen really terrible ones).

And I bought "The Cheese Is a Liedekranz."

Cake references in public were groan-worthy back when the game came out -- even with the possibility of some camp factor, it's just going to be awkward if you try making Portal "in-joke" references now.

And that's not counting the attempt at humor here. If you like the idea of some cake lying about nutrition, fine, but just realize that here it comes bundled with a reference to a "hilarious" phrase from Portal. One that had already saturated its comedic potential by the end of the 3-hour game. I would expect that most people familiar with the real phrase will just see this as really corny.

Buy this shirt. I dare you. Count the groans from everyone around you every time you wear it, and get back to me.

Edit: Alright Woot, I guess I can understand why you brought it back. There are just so many suckers that love it. It's hard to resist that kind of money. I'm just mad because I've seen enough people wearing this thing in public already and I don't know if I can handle it getting into even more hands.

I've never heard of Portal. I bought one for my daughter who is a pastry chef. That makes it funny.

Nothing worse than a cynical gamer, walking around in a Cheese is a Liedekranz shirt. ;-)

This is the greatest shirt of all time, and my very first Woot! I am a 'sucker who loves it' and still wear it -- in fact, I may get ANOTHER one, even though there's nothing wrong with mine and it's worn like a dream!

And as to your comment, you're the only one groaning, 'cause when someone recognizes it when I'm wearing it, they seem to get happily transported back to a fun gamer period of their lives. Maybe you're just bitter because you couldn't complete the game in less than three hours. ;-)

Greatest. Shirt. Ever. Thanks, Woot!

Love the shirt's design. Not such a fan of the color. Portals come in blue too. Can we get a blue edition? I'd by a couple of those before you could say "the cake is a lie".

Yes, this. I would love this in blue. Pretty sure you'd get everyone who ever bought this to buy it again if you sold it in blue. You know you want to. Easy money!

I'd buy one if it was in blue. Orange looks pretty terrible on me.

I remember being indecisive on Donut Panic forever, until a Woot! Off made it $12 and I made the right choice. Since then, it's been my favorite Woot! shirt, and I have many.

The Cake is a Liar was my first, but I lost a lot of weight since I bought it, thanks to the advice on the shirt no doubt, and now I'm considering getting it in medium.

gaah, I love my Donut Panic shirt so much, I wear it almost constantly and I know it's going to die eventually. I would totally buy a 2nd one if it reprints.

First shirt I ever bought on shirt.woot. I'd never even PLAYED any Portal, just watched my boyfriend play bits and pieces. I thought it was funny though, and I was slightly overweight and loved cake, so it was also ironic.

It's a lot bigger than it used to be now, but I still wear it and get smiles from random people, even if they have no idea it's a game reference. The first day I wore it I actually went into Gamestop and the employee there burst out laughing. "I love your shirt."

Buy it now before it's gone again!

Probably. I don't think one has been printed since early April (Hotcakes, I think?).

What better way to get rid of the excess than print one of the few popular orange shirts out there?

I just got mine in the mail today and WOW IS IT ORANGE!

I could wear it this halloween and tell people I'm a traffic cone and they would believe me! That's how ORANGE it is!

Think safety orange meets neon orange! YES!

If you took an orange shirt and bathed it in the warpushima water for several months and then printed the image one it.. then it MIGHT be one tenth as orange as this shirt is!

Yes.. it's THAT orange!

But I love it!

So Woot... orange you glad I bought it?

Steve was DELICIOUS!

I have a question. Does woot often bring back old shirts? I was completely devastated when I didn't get this shirt the last random (wasn't here when it was still printing), so now I'm wondering if there's still a chance for me to buy the older, awesome shirts.

Often? Nope. I mean, there's the ever delayed "classics" that they've been intending to do, but otherwise, the reason for Cake coming back is because of Portal 2.

does anyone know where I could buy about 15 of these? Is it available in print anywhere? My mom wants to give one to all of her girlfriends. She has no idea that it's a portal thing, they just all used to be cheerleaders and now they are in their 60's and they like to make cakes when they have their reunions.

Love this shirt! Just wanted to say that I read the comments on it from the beginning and want to say F the haters. I always get compliments when I wear it and people are always laughing. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for bringing this back for the Holiday Guide! I joined Woot after this was discontinued, I found out about it from the link in This Was A Triumph.

I almost bought one second-hand until I saw it was back! I'm surprised at the sheer number of negative comments on the shirt, either you like the parody or you don't. I for one think it's awesome!

Thank you Woot!

When I saw that Woot has recently added a new "print on demand" feature I immediately checked to see if this shirt was available. Alas, no!

I can't tell you how many people love this shirt. I've got 70 or so Woot shirts and this is definitely one of the most popular and commented on when I wear it.

Please add back in the orange...

Still not available! My original run shirt is riddled with holes. It gives my wife fits when I insist on wearing it in public...
