Thanks! This was one of my favorites (also one of my earliest submissions) - looks like it can't hold its own this time around, but nice to see positive feedback!

Nice to see this one again, I thought this was way underrated during that derby.

I *love* this shirt and am so happy to see it here. I was very disappointed when it wasn't prined the first time around. I really really hope it makes it into the fog.

Well mr. obscure, that wraps up the sentiment of my shirt exactly!
Your comment intriqued me enough to google search for the lyrics...
The Shaggs - Philosophy Of The World, wierd.

Anyhoo... I just want to tell the powers that be I am honored to be included in this week's entries, and happier that the one that they chose is one of my favorites instead of the more popular one. If I had a $2000 credit card I would buy every one of the shirts in this week's contest. Bravo.

I was stunned not to see any shirts like this when I first created the design. It seemed...well, obvious. When I couldn't find any other shirts out there, I figured it must've been one of those nobody-goes-there-because-it's-too-crowded kind of things (or one of those elephant-in-the-room things) and so I decided to take a tip from the Captain himself and make one. (I've always thought it'd be useful to have a superhero on your team that could never miss anything obvious and would never be afraid to point it out.) Even after I made the design, I double-checked to make sure no one had beat me to the punch. Turns out I missed someone who had. Don't know why their shirt didn't get more votes than it did.

Did anyone check on the dates of the other Captain Obvious shirts out there? Were they ones I just missed, or did they really start springing up after the contest here? I'm not claiming that anybody stole my idea. That would just be stupid, like trying to take credit for making a "No sh*t, Sherlock" or an "I'm not a rocket scientist" shirt. I'm just curious.

Thanks for the pleasant comments. Didn't expect to win here, but it was slightly disappointing to find my entry disqualified from a contest it was invited to. I hope that doesn't happen to a lot of the shirts.

Up until a few minutes ago when I read your post, I had never seen anything by Edward Gorey. I mean, unless I saw them in passing and don't remember, which is fairly likely and makes me a terrible liar who is not be trusted at any rate.

I do, however, as of christmas enjoy the benefits of drawing with a drawing tablet, thanks to the lavish generosity of my mom and dad. Not sure what this has to do with your question. I think I am just wildly excited and can't stop typing for the life of me. Give me an inch, my friend.

I do enjoy Edward Gorey's illustrations now that I am acquainted with them. He is certainly very Edward Gorey, I can say that much for certain. I am not much of an art critic, however, so I can't make any definitive statements on the matter other than, yes, indeed, I do enjoy what I was looking at. But, as I've said, I can't justify my enjoyment with any sort of talk that makes me sound like anything other than a terrible slob. Perhaps it’s merely his name; I have a particular fondness for Edwards and Eddies and Eds of all varieties.

I don't think there is much more to be said on the subject other than thank you for introducing me to this man's work. As far as rocking your world goes, I am terrified by this image. I suggest finding a stable object and securing yourself to it immediately. Stay put until the rocking stops. And then maybe calling the police. I can't help much in this matter, however. I don't have a working telephone in my room; I was trying to turn it into a nice looking phone and accidentally melted whatever it is inside it that makes it work.

Goodluck!
