endangeredomega wrote:I attended the NYC Comic Con 2 weekends ago and expected to see a lot more Woot shirts, as last year's con was the first time I spotted one "in the wild". Maybe it's because they moved the event back to February from April, but I only saw one, "Chestiny", while waiting in line to get in on Friday afternoon.

I wore Unatomy and Sputnik on Saturday and Sunday, but to my knowledge, I wasn't sighted by any fellow wooters.

I saw at least three Circuit-ulatory Systems there on Saturday, one person in The Epic Begins, and someone else wearing Eating Healthy.

Thursday, I saw someone wearing 'Friends are Forever' at Freebirds here in Texas. I asked if that was a Woot shirt, giving him an out in case it was a gift, eBay or something. He laughed and said "Oh, Yeah" I complimented it with a 'looks good!' or something. I had come from work so wasn't wearing one myself.

Next, I attended a science fiction and fantasy literary convention this weekend in Dallas and displayed a few Woot shirts. Friday I wore 'Wormhole Republic.' I had 3 compliments, with two asking where I got it. The next day, I wore F5 Refreshes you, had one compliment, and saw another attendee wearing Wormhole Republic. We "Woot! Nice shirt"ed each other. My daughter wore 'Carmen was in San Diego' and got 6 compliments! I wore 2 other woot shirts that weekend but they went unnoticed.

Here's a video about a sandwich making robot. One of the guys is wearing a "Grim Optimism" shirt. Kinda cool to see.

I saw my first shirt in the wild yesterday (outside of the PAX conference where I saw about a dozen). I was at Fry's Electronics in Renton, WA when I saw a guy wearing Nanonauts. I thought about saying hi and telling him I designed it, then I remembered all the stories here that ended in awkward silences and uncomfortableness and decided not to. I just so happened to be wearing Suburban Blitzkrieg at the time, which I hadn't worn in months.

If you ever happen to see me wearing Nanonauts, feel free to introduce yourself. I'll be the short one with the brown hair in Massachusetts.

What? I would love to have met the designer of a shirt I was wearing. If this situation ever happens to me (where I am the wearer and he/she is the designer), I fully expect somebody to approach me and talk to me about their design.

Woohoo!

Never thought this day would come, but I just had my first woot sighting this afternoon!

Saw a kid wearing "Office Surprise", and when I said "Nice woot shirt" I got a "W T F are you talking about" look. Turns out his ma is a big wooter and she bought it for him.

I am shocked by how excited I am to finally see a woot shirt out in the real world.

I haven't seen a sighting recently but I found two fellow wooters. One was checking the woot site in the school library and I started talking to him. The person next to him joined in. At this point I was amazed because I havent met any wooters before. Btw they weren't complete strangers, I knew of them from my classes.

No! The guy I saw stopped to talk and let me take a picture! Luck for me his wife and kids were wooters.

I had a woot shirt on too.

You could have signed it and he could have sold it on ebay for a fortune!

Yeah Travis, if for some bizarre reason you're in central Alabama and you see a girl with wild curly hair wearing Rembrandt Plumber or Stuck Inside PLEASE introduce yourself. I'll even invite you for dinner and fix you some fried okra and sweet tea!

When? I hope one was me! I wore my woot shirts rather frequently during my two months in Japan (and I do realize that Tokyo is a very populated city so the odds of seeing me were slim ).

And Tgentry--you should have introduced yourself! How cool!

Yeah we're in a legal battle right now. I want half ownership of his forearm.

Actually he contacted me and asked permission, which I thought was cool. I think it turned out really well and feel very honored.

I have seen a number of woot shirts.

Of course, I live in Carrollton...

Anyway, I know of multiple people who wear woot.

I saw an I [wear] shirts shirt last week.
Saw Donut Panic today!
and and Defrost recently.

But. I guess I have an unfair advantage, living less than 3 miles from the woot headquarters. I can walk to it...

I saw a guy wearing the Robot love shirt recently, but my Hungry Bento was under my hoodie and I didn't know the "woot passphrase" so I just stared for a while, then all my friends started whispering about how they had seen that shirt on woot. It was a great day.

As others have said, if you see someone wearing one of your shirts again, you should definitely say something. I think it'd be pretty nifty to meet the designers of my woot shirts.
Also, Woohoo Renton! My husband and I are planning on moving out there this summer for his new job.

So I'm telling a story to two of my co-workers about Woot.shirt when not three seconds after I stop talking, a guy walks in wearing Donut Panic.

I'd never seen a woot shirt in the wild before that.

It was a memorable first time.

One of the employees at an independant video store here in Athens has a wardrobe of woot shirts, cant even name them all. Side note: During our recent snow storm and power outage my wife and I walked to a candle lit snow party, once inside I removed my coat and another party goer pointed at my shirt (you guys gotta try this) and asked "did you just get that from woot?"

The girl working behind the counter recognized them as woot shirts & we had a good conversation.

I've seen two woot shirts at my college (besides those worn by my friend, who introduced me to woot). A girl in my Motion Design class has "Hey wait up...you are my best friend" t-shirt, and another one, but I can't remember which.

I also saw a guy outside the drama dept. wearing Fat Unicorn.

I didn't say anything because I'm laem. :<

Also, my little brother's band is performing this Saturday downtown, and he's planning on wearing either Commie Dinos or Rambling. I said Rambling because the design is larger and easier to read. So maybe someone will see him...?
