Initially, I didn't have any good ideas for this theme but as usual my wife came to the rescue! She suggested doing a shirt of a chipmunk who had stuffed its face with acorns...

I liked this idea and took it a step further with the chubby chipmunk being lord of a mountain of nuts...

When I think of greed, I always think of good ol’ Ben Franklin... not just because his face is on the hundred-dollar bill, but because he was always talking about money... saving, spending, investing... the man took a the vice of hoarding money and made it seem like the virtue of a level-headed spendthrift. Here’s to the man who made greed appear to be a traditional American value... save all your pennies and maybe you too will have your face printed on the cash.

The man had a lot to say about money, and he flew a mean kite to boot. Here are some of my favorite Franklin quotes:

“Wealth is not his that has it, but his that enjoys it.”

“If you know how to spend less than you get, you have the philosopher's stone.”

We've all been that sad flower and have had that perfect girl or perfect guy stolen from us. Wasn't that a sad sad day? How are we ever going to be polinated? What a greedy flower! I'd say it's frugal, or "cheap", but I wouldn't consider people who are "penny pinchers" greedy.

Little forest thing finds a little forest fruit that could feed all the other little forest things. . . but do they share? NOOOOO. Someday, a bigger forest thing will come by and see the greedy little forest things and munch them up.

Seems to me, greed keeps people from letting go of their stuff, as much as their desire for more stuff.

I just don't see greed here. The saying is expressing hunger, not greed. There's a difference between gluttony as seen in The Meaning of Life and hunger as in "I was so hungry I could eat a horse." I just think this design is an attempt to wedge a cool idea that doesn't quite fit the topic into the topic.

Oh, and anacondas (or is it boas?) often will eat deer, as I understand it, in their native habitat, so a horse isn't really out of the question.

It's the old classic con "shell game". It seemed to me that all the squirrels and gas pumps and money grubbers were already being done, So I thought I'd take a more subtle approach. Too subtle. I guess.
