I'm not sure if I fully understand the question, but for me, while the men's medium certainly does fit, it's way too long and bunches up a lot at the bottom, whereas, the WXL is the perfect length and fit around the torso, but my tree ants are just squeezed and contorted in a most uncomfortable fashion. If I give my shirts a good stretch before I put them on, it's a little better, but I'd like my t-shirts to fit more like a t-shirt...kind of loose, you know? Plus, I really don't want to wear the men's sizes.

Bumpin' on that thread.....

I was just wondering, for those of you who have bought WXL, how much wider is it in the body compared to a WL? I guess you could just measure the WXL for me and I can compare it to my own WL.

I like the way the WL fits on me, but I always like to go up a size just because. However, I am nervous about getting a WXL because I hate it when shirts just get wider in the body, and not necessarily longer. Thank you for all of your help!

this is the size chart. it doesn't say if the shirts are longer, though i believe they are. i cannot confirm since, i'm a different size.

I guess if the WL is a little tight for you, then i would suggest buying a WXL.
Then if the WXL doesn't work out, try a MM or ML.

I just say if it doesn't fit, just trade/sell the shirt in one of the random trade centers and try a different size. Cuz i'm sure someone would enjoy the shirt you got in that size that didn't fit you. ^___^

I actually prefer the men's shirts. I've lost 75 lbs in the past year, and one thing I've noticed when buying smaller sizes is that the shirts are too short. When I sit down, I don't want to expose my back, but women's shirts seem to do that on me. I also have no interest in exposing my belly when I reach for something. I'm only 5'4" so it's not like I'm tall or anything. Even if Woot started making a WXXL, I'd still choose the men's shirt.

I don't have any WLs, but I do have WMs and WXLs. The WXL is about an inch wider than the WM on each side, maybe a tiny bit more. The sleeves are about an inch longer, and the bottom of the shirt is about 2 inches longer. WXL is about 17 inches wide, with the ruler held about 2 inches below the sleeve.

Hope that helps. I bought the WXLs to sleep in, but they don't feel that much bigger than the WMs, at least not big enough to feel comfy while sleeping.

Please. please start selling WXXL. I don't care if the print size is a little off. I would also be willing to pay an extra $1. I'm thin, but breastfeeding. Even if I wasn't nursing, I don't think the WXL would be big enough, especially to layer. I have tried the MM amd ML and they are not flattering.

I would say go for a MM. the ML is significantly larger than the MM, and I laid my woot shirts on top of each other. The WXL is smaller than the MM

Got my latest shirt as a MM. Roomy all the way around. But it does fit like a men's shirt. I would prefer a bit more shape at the waist and it to be shorter but it seems to work. I definitely wouldn't get a side or bottom design on it though, it would get lost.

Also it got washed and dried on high in the dryer and still fits me fine.

I'm pretty short and they aren't quite down to my elbows. I'd say 2-3 inches above, so still pretty long. However I'm sporting a major farmers tan at the moment so I don't mind since it covers it up.

Please refer to the BBW comments in the main shirt thread today. Apparently, we are hideous.

Seriously, though, maybe the WXXL will be the next step for woot. I really don't mind the WXL on me, I've learned to rock it, but now it's just the principle.

I'm coming out in support of the WXXL. I didn't even know it was a possibility until I saw it on threadless awhile back. And now that Woot's jumped on the bandwagon with the kids sizes, I just don't understand why WXXL isn't an option. There's two really great shirts coming out of this derby that I REALLY REALLY want to buy, but I'm tired of how the men's shirts fit. Help the curvy sistas out, Woot people!!!

Adding to the voices for women XXL! I generally like men's cuts as I have the shoulders of a linebacker (ribs are 42 inches!) and some decent boobies, (ahuhu) but I would love to have the option sometimes of ordering a women's cut, particularly for the lighter colors which don't always hang as flattering.

For serious. I measured myself, and fitting the girls into a ML or even MXL will be a stretch, and the rest of the shirt is going to be a tent. I'd rather buy something that fits all of the top of my body, not just one third of it (maybe). As previous commenters have pointed out, it isn't and shouldnt be surprising that women have breasts and like to put clothing on them.

I just buy the men's 3X but then, I'm huge! ;)

I typically prefer women's 3x in shirts anyway because they are longer and less clingy.

I'd try an xl in a design with relatively little ink. THe shirts themselves stretch a decent amount, which i didn't notice until i got my last batch of randoms, which had ink-heavy shirts, which didn't fit over the girls but that's ok bc they just got handed to bf. Strange how 5'5" 185 and 6'4 160 wear the same size.... no idea how big you are, but mm ftw (for us, at least)

Would you PM me some of those sites? I don't know which ones are the good ones. Now I am hang drying 20+ Woot shirts and I just can't keep up with it.

I'm bringing forward an old post here, because i's exactly right!! I'm also in this category, and when you have curves, wearing loose men's clothing makes you look fat, whether you are or not! I've got a 10+ inch difference between waist & bust, which does not get shown off in any way shape or form with a mens shirt.

The WXL's fit me when new (and I'm usually in a M-L category) and I 'cold water, line dry' pretty much all of my clothes, so I'm hoping they'll stay fitting.

BUT, if I'm wearing the largest size available to women... then there are definitely too many women being excluded. Actually, I'd buy some shirts in a WXXL just for a looser (but still female-shaped) fit myself. Even the WXL is a little tight at the bust, but loose at the waist.

I have to agree full heartedly that we need a WXXL, I'd be buying a lot more shirts if they offered that size, and I'd be more than willing to pay the difference for it...they offer up to 3X for the bigger woot guys, what about us bigger women who want to show our woot without looking like we're wearing a tent? Please start offering this soon!

This probably doesn't make you feel better, but for a long time the WS was too big and I bemoaned the lack of a WXS. So it cuts both ways at the ends of the spectrum. :\

I've known not to even bother with the women's shirts on Woot since I ordered a Death Cab For Cutie AA shirt in a WXL in college and ended up with a shirt that fit my size 4 little sister. Honestly, it's pretty ridiculous.

I wear ML shirts from Woot, which isn't a huge problem for me because I am both tall and round, but I am definitely for the addition of more lady lump accommodating styles.

Teefury does the same cr*p (although it only offers XXL to men), and it's even worse there, as the women's sizes will be in a tantalizing feminine color not available in the men's.

Okay if your going to get into men sizes I just take what size you wear in womens and subtract an a size.

I wear a medium-large in womens clothes depends on the spandex and brand name. =D but back to the point so what I did is I got a small mens t-shirt and it fit fine. When I buy t shirts I shop in men section too, so I'm kinda familiar. So It seems that all you have to do is subtract one size off for the men's t-shirts. That way it fits! GOOD LUCK!

ToraOni

quality posts: 0 Private Messages ToraOni

If you want to know how it fits, well I never bought a womens t-shirt from woot but I always liked the way men shirt fit on me. They are tab long though to me that means if work allows us to dress down I can still wear it tucked without it too taunt. I would say the sleeves end mid biceps so mens size do shrink in our dryer a little but I can barely notice it.

It is on the size chart. Is this just a fluke? If not can any of the ladies tell me what size they order in mens? The WXL fit after being washed.. but I am just too busty and it looked stupid!

I'm so bummed! I am a medium - large in "normal" girl clothes. How can I be too freakishly large for a Woot? :'(

I've never tried to order any of the Women's sizes based on the assumption that I would have that same problem. I wear an XL in regular women's clothes and am pretty chesty and I buy men's L shirts here. The look is form-fitting and not at all boxy or manly. And I've never really had a problem with shrinkage.

Ok, so I keep hearing in this thread how WXL is freakishly small for girls who fit fine in ML, is this correct? I've got one MM shirt and it's nice and slightly loose. I'm like 41 inches up top, and 33 inches in the waist so I know that sizing chart is wonky. MM says 38-40 up top, 32-33 waist so it should be quite snug. Looking at the WXL measurements if it follows the MM and is bigger than on paper, I'll drown in it.

I'm trying to figure out the right size for a red shirt so if that makes any difference in the tightness of the shirt let me know. I'm also worried about the length of the shirts. MM is nice and long so I don't have to worry about flashing my belly, how's a WXL on length compared to a MM?

I prefer the WXL because they are more flattering to my particular figure, but I also have tried on the MM and the ML. The MM is simply to small for my chest, tighter even that the WXL. I'm 38" up top. The ML fits me well, but I don't like the men's cut. I find it to be too boxy, and the one thing I have going for my larger than BootsBoots frame is that I have curves. The men's sizes desexify me, so it's a no go. I also prefer the length of the WXL. They come just slightly below the button of my pants, whereas the men's hang down long enough to cover my zipper, and then some. I don't like that at all. I'm 5'8". For me, it's not that the WXL is *freakishly* small, but it is pretty darn tight. It would buy the Rollerball (2002) out of WXXL shirts just for the sake of having a tiny bit more breathing room. God forbid I miss a week at the gym and not have my 50+ woot shirts fit anymore.

See, this is the weirdness that's throwing me for a loop. You're much smaller than me up top, but you say the MM is too tight. It's loose on me, and I've even washed it hot to shrink it some. So I'm almost convinced if the MM is loose then the WXL will be tent-like on me. Is it like a shoulder length thing maybe, that makes the difference? But then, I looked at my roommates WXL shirt from Threadless and it actually was small enough to make me worry about shrinkage. What is up with this weirdness.

That sounds like your MM fit about like how my ML shirts fit. I find the WXL to be a little short. (I'm 5'5", back will show if I bend over or raise my arms). I've found the WXL to be smaller than than the MM. I laid all my shirts on top of each other, and the WXL was noticeably smaller than the MM. Other than the length, it sounds like the WXL would be a pretty good fit.

It could have something to do with the amount of ink on the shirt. Mito's Ablaze in MM fits me snugly, but covers the girls alright. I got Flasher in MM as a random, and, because of the amount of ink, it didn't fit nearly as well, and I ended up giving it to the bf.
