Hey, this is the actual designer I didn't know about this site until yesterday, next time I'll definitely post my entry earlier! Thanks and I'm glad you like it!

briannyc128 wrote:Hey eHalcyon, I was actually about to post pretty much exactly what you wrote over on my shirt's thread over here. I would say its been about 50/50 from what i can see in terms of who's been on top in the fog. CWarrington's page has us and Youbetchacan neck and neck right now, with Sublimican out in front by about 30(ish) still.

Good luck to you as well! Looking forward to seeing how everything pans out this weekend!

Oooh... this will be especially interesting since Youtbetchucan has just fallen out of the hotness after so long. I have no idea how SDS keeps estimates, but I wonder if it might be off a bit because the fogged entries haven't been dominating the hotness as much as they do in most derbies? Or maybe I've just been noticing it more in this derby because I'm more interested in the outcome than usual.

Since the three of us are so close right now, do you think a three-way tie would be possible? That would be amazing, because I really want Fantasma... XP

You have no idea how badly I want this shirt to win. It beats every design in the fog with a baseball bat made of lead.
xD
Even if it doesn't win, I will gladly wait the 60 days in order to purchase it at another site.

Nice first post, bonehead. Chill out, it hasn't won yet. Besides, it's a rather cool design.

It fell out of the fog or out of the hotness?

The way I understand it, for the fogged shirts, SDS looks at the hotness ratings for those 4 shirts every three hours and uses them to add to the vote totals. If a shirt isn't in the hotness but is in the fog, it inputs the highest possible vote total the shirt could have but still be out of the fog (... so really the lowest fog total). As a result the totals are usually a bit inflated because it would only be perfect if each shirt was always one vote away from the hotness.

Sorry, I meant the hotness. Edited my original comment so as not to confuse anyone.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but fogged entries in most derbies I've participated in seem to always be at the top of the hotness. The fact that we've all been dropping in and out of the hotness may actually have a profound effect on the estimates, if your understanding is correct. It's probably a bit more complicated than that though (i.e. not just looking every three hours but keeping a constant tab on the hotness and doing some magic calculations with that info).

Should be an interesting outcome indeed.

Gah! This is my favorite in the fog.... if not 3rd, a tie please. *crossing fingers/toes*

The only shirt in this derby I'd wear and do so proudly. I would even keep wearing it if I spilled red wine on it like I did my 3-D Lion.

"Champagne is a very kind and friendly thing on a rainy night." -Isak Dinesen

Re: Imagination Laboratory

Okay, I will crosspost this here since I'm not sure if you'll see my reply in the other shirt's thread. If this is indeed your company logo, I apologize, but you won't be able to print those shirts because woot now has exclusive rights to the design for 60 days. Here's what Gatzby quoted from the rules on the submission page:

Derby Terms and Conditions wrote:1. Consideration of Artwork. Artist grants Woot a 60-day exclusive right to review and consider the Artwork. During this 60-day period, Artist shall not use the Artwork in any manner or submit the Artwork to anyone else to be used in any manner. All materials sent to Woot will be treated as non-proprietary and non-confidential. Because Woot receives many submissions, Woot cannot be held liable if it reproduces or commissions artwork similar to yours but which has come from another source.

2. Extension of Consideration Period for Best of Derby. If Woot nominates the Artwork for participation in a Best of Derby through (i) email notification to Artist; or (ii) naming the Artwork an Honorable Mention entry in a published blog post, and Artist consents to such participation, Artist grants Woot a 180-day exclusive right to review and consider the Artwork. During this 180-day period, Artist shall not use the Artwork in any manner or submit the Artwork to anyone else to be used in any manner. Artist may accept or decline participation by sending notice to shirt@woot.com within ten (10) business days of Woot’s email notification of nomination or publication of the Honorable Mention blog post naming the Artwork as an Honorable Mention. Artist grants Woot Artist’s consent to participate in the Best of Derby for which the Artwork is nominated if Artist does not provide notice to Woot within ten (10) business days that Artist declines participation.

Mmkay, things make sense now. Sounds good. As a human, I think I can dig being mutually respectful people. As an artist, I think this means that I should thank you profusely for your unwavering dedication to my shirt, though I am sorry the other shirts don't catch your fancy. I think they're kind of neat, myself. Nifty gold chocolate coin for you?

markwolcott wrote:A bunch of horse-bird-dragons spooning with each other around a sword? How the hell is this the winning shirt?

Ouch. If it's a comfort, it isn't a winning shirt (or I'd be very shocked if it was). Secondly, I'm sorry you think it lacks somewhat...though your description is oddly apt. 'cept for the dragon part, I guess. Anyway, I'm sorry I've disappointed you. I'll try to draft a more acceptable design next time.

One of the rules for this derby was that it could not be all text. Perhaps you could add a grammar book to the design or something else related to propositions, to keep this from being rejected.
