I like the design but the rules say:

Your design must be on a green (or grass) shirt

Might want to resub

Crud, well it *was* pretty cliche, so I'm not surprised... I've got another idea that I'll hopefully have submitted by this evening.

I was torn between submitting the darker one and this one. I personally liked the darker one better, but somehow I thought The general voting public would like something a little brighter.

Thanks again to everyone that has voted for this. I've submitted about a dozen derby entries in the past couple of months. This one is off to the best start of any of them.

Maybe I'll break 100!

We all have our vices: the Cookie Monster and his cookies, Michael Moore and those little chocolate cupcakes with the white squiggly icing...

Money Bags here is no different. Just the sight of that delicious green paper sends him into an eating frenzy, and he won't stop until he's bursting at the seams.

Bright is a good idea for a summer time derby methinks. How bout a big red star in the middle of Russia? I can't remember if they are or aren't communist anymore. Take that public school edumacation!

Everyone does resubs now.
It fit the theme and there were some weak entries so I'm just tryin my luck
haven't had much time for anything new lately

Admitting it's a resub is maybe the nail in the coffin for this.

eHalcyon wrote:@Sachmoe64 - Thanks for the compliment. Perhaps the simplicity is well handled, but the truth is that I can't get much more complex than this! I'm not even near that kind of skill level yet.

Re: the lolcats talk, that's simply the voice I heard when I looked at my monster. The late-night fatigue may also have affected me. I wanted to post the poem mostly because my regular poetry usually isn't so light-hearted. I figured that the "language" would probably push some voters away, while other people would enjoy the poem and the story. I'm just hoping for more of the latter than the former. If you'd like, I could come up with a more poetic poem.

By the way, your "Breaking Light" entry is amazing, especially if it's your first attempt at that style. If/when I become as artistically capable as you, I hope to have the courage to try a different style. Good luck. Someone mentioned in your thread that it was too feminine for them. I actually don't see that at all, especially compared to my own design here.

This is a million times better than the fox and the hound IMO! and thank you very much for the kind words for breaking light. I would encourage you not to wait till you get "better" to try new styles. go crazy now. the more styles you work in the better you get in every style. your normal drawings will look a lot better if you practice life drawing (drawing people from life not photos ) granted, you dont need to show everyone your first attempts, but it will help you in the long run. I feel i learned a lot from this submission.

When I took the screen capture I must have had the background layer selected. So the dot is from that and it's not part of the design. I didn't even notice the dot until now! Good eye!

Wow, great first entry. A really nice clean design one can see adorning many a t-shirt. To change that pic you have to delete your entry and resubmit, but I don't see anything wrong with what you currently have.

It's a different spin on Emerald City being on a hill high off in the distance. Instead, it's on a pillar... the yellow brick road is more like a ramp up as it reaches the base. It's totally artistic license... I wanted to go a bit more artistic than goofy like I normally do. I have more than one style in my bag of tricks.
