As soon as i read the title of the derby, i thought of something about the power of inner energy. Awesome design. Two thumbs up.

Thank you!

I like it... I love wind shirts in general. :-)

Two things you might want to think about:

The brown and purplish pink colors don't quite say "wind and waves" to me. You may want to put it on a black or navy shirt with light blue ink.

The design is awfully "boxy." That's good in that it looks like a woodblock print, but it's not all that appealing on a t-shirt. You may want to extend the edges of some of the wind and wave swirls so that they make an irregular edge.

It looks like you have some talent here. I look forward to seeing more from you in the future.

Thanks! Yeah, I was hoping there were more than a few bio majors on woot. Perhaps we have really patriotic bio majors that will be on tomorrow to vote! *hopeful*

Heheheh.... Cool. I have a friend who's a biology professor who would love to have this one. Great spin on the "energy" concept. :-)

Thank you so much for the very detailed comments. Those are very useful things for me to take note.

In fact, I did start off with blue colors but decided to go for a more unexpected combination so that it speaks beyond sea and waves. Even did a cranberry version. Not too sure how well this works exactly.

Feedback much appreciated.

Hey, thanks for the comment.

I'm not much of a designer (more of a hobbyist), so it's really great to hear something positive every now and again.

Now if I could only get someone to vote on the dang thing! *giggles*

Re: Electric Mnemonic

Reduction occurs at the cathode and oxidation occurs at the anode. If you can't remember that, just remember "red cat, an ox".

Another mnemonic (not illustrated here) - cats are positive. That is, cations are positive ions; the negative ions are anions.

Oh, and it looks like there's some electric tension between the cat and the musk ox. That's energy as well.

It looks well done. It's very hard to predict what voters will want, so don't feel bad if your work doesn't catch on right away. Good luck to you.

For college chem tests, I used the phrase "positive kitties".

Beautiful design, very artistic, but I really can't see myself wearing it.

Did not GMV, but I may change that over the course of the week, and even if I don't and it wins I may buy one if nothing else I do vote for makes it in.

Great job, though, on the artwork. I am impressed.

Beautiful design that almost soars but is grounded by the coffee cup, though I realize that is the center of the concept

Still, good design, GMV, and I'll more than likely buy one if it places :D

Nice job on the art. Colors are very well chosen, and the white background is perfect to showcase the art. I don't like it as a T-Shirt though, so didn't gmv.

Nice design. GMV, but only marginally. I like the design a lot, but I think its a bit too busy for a shirt. Would rock as a computer background or a poster though.
