Re: Sunflowers

Had to vote for this one - the wife loves sunflowers and most of the shirts I've bought were for me so this could help even the count a little. Love how not all the flowers are viewed straight on. Nice work.

An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

Re: Wall Pixels

I do like this, but I'd like to see one printed to see if the colors show up correctly.

Thanks so much. I spent a lot of time getting the colors the way I wanted them. Hopefully they look just as good on everyone else's monitors. :-)

This is my resubmit because of my crappy thumbnail before. I don't think it got any recognition... hopefully it'll get some love now. Thanks for looking!

What about a monkey? Where's the monkey? Good thing there's still room for the "most perfectest shirt".

Also coocoo for koko, but why asphalt? Please pick another color and resub. Yellow? Orange? Light Blue? Red? even Cranberry?

Re: Deconstruction

i think this is very cool idea; i'm just wondering how it would actually look if printed and if it's ok to show the grid?

I did a Big Wheel design several derbies ago and had a lot of fun with it. I really like this one BeefCoat.

Re: Pixel Art Straight from the Brush

timthetorch wrote:This would be amazing if the paint lines were longer and it was placed on one side of the shirt

Thanks for the comment. I actually did two of these designs. This is the smaller of the two designs. I thought about even going more skinny and long on the paint strokes, but was having trouble with the overlapping layers, the 6 color requirement and the 0.25 inch pixel requirement. The smaller the paintbrush, the larger the pixel squares appear and it was hard to show the 'scattering of paint' or the paint residue on the brushes. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks again for your comment and vote!

Re: Hurry up and wait

I am so surprised these days that Windows hasn't caught up with the rest of the world with hi-res icons... Now I know Vista has that "swirly" thing, but in XP they still have very... let's call them, vintage... pointers. Here's to not waiting around, watching a bad hourglass graphic for things to load! Me? I'm a Mac guy, so I rarely even see a "please wait a minute" icon ever on my screen. Oh well, Thanks for looking!

i needed a dark color for the "lines" around the kokoster. black was too stark and the asphalt gives it a nice pastel look. with yellow, lt. blue, and the others i'd have to rework the entire color scheme. it is what it is. thanks for looking.

Thus far, this isn't my favorite Derby, but this shirt made me laugh. Even though I'm not fond of yellow shirts, I'd buy it.

Thanks Toe! What a surprise! I've been running errands for my mom and was very surprised to see this in the fog when I got back. Very exciting. Thanks to all who've voted thus far!

heartluce wrote:Very nice Kristen. I love how this looks smooth and wearable, not like Legos ;-).

Thanks Heartluce! I checked with Joel first to make sure that this was a valid entry before posting. I was afraid that this might be too 'linear', but fortunately, the rules were referring to gridlines, not 0.25 rectangle bars.

I also took the recommendation of another poster and did a FLW-ish design with more neutral colors. Thanks to the person who suggested that!

Thanks Sailstud! Yes. We have 'chatted' about this before and our love for both FLW and DaVinci. So happy to see this one getting some votes.

Thanks again everybody. Very thrilling!
