Congratulations on the Win!

I feel like the shirt template made the shirt less appealing compared to the actual shirt it was shown on in the entry. The template makes the design look too big and just not right.

Well, it can't take longer than Smartpost, where packages sit for a week at a time without moving.

This reminds me strongly of Van Gogh's Starry Night. I like both of them but am just not a fan of the pixelation theme.

Great design considering the contest rules, but does this really translate into a cool shirt? I'm afraid not.

wow, I'm really surprised that this shirt and ones like it are popular. I don't find the style very appealing at all. More power to you guys, though.

I love this and I don't at the same time. I'm all about the red shirt and trees...but I'm not liking the blown up design. Wish it were smaller or less pixly! I'll think about it...

That's not what I meant. The picture is cut off at the edges due to Woot's printing policies. Notice how the orange waves just end on the sides? I think that detracts from the piece.

Congrats to the artist, of course. Woot voters are a tough crowd.

On another note, IMO, the whole theme of this derby was odd, and not in a good way. Most of the designs (with the exception of KLSWoot's and a few others who managed to find a way to make nice art) are inherently unattractive based on the fact that they look like .jpg's that have been enlarged far too much. I'm bemused by all the enthusiasm - I don't understand how that look could be considered attractive.

Cool picture, sweet shirt.. congrats!

I'm surprised there is so much negativity considering this shirt was submitted well after the other 3 that ended in the fog, and still busted up the ranks and took first.

As others have said, I think it's more the theme than the designs themselves. It's hard to make a good pixellated shirt without video games or computer graphics.

I suspect that the popularity of this shirt is mainly due to riff's three other shirts being rejected - no offense to riff, but I don't see the appeal of this design, except in that shirt.woot voters have a history of supporting designers whose popular designs are rejected. I think the sales figures will show that the designer was a lot more popular than the design.

An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

Every time I look at the design, my eyes strain to try to view the image in it's unpixellated form... terrible idea for a derby. I can never remember a time in my history of watching Shirt.Woot that the first place winner has lasted past 9am, let alone the ENTIRE DAY.

Yep, that's what I was thinking too. I know someone occasionally collects past shirt sale information, but I'd love to see a Guinness Book of Woot Records which keeps track of things like this.

It is. This is not only the lowest selling winner ever (and probably one of the ten worst selling derby shirts ever, if not the worst), but it has the dubious honor of being the only derby print to ever sell fewer shirts than votes (which is to say that if a shirt got X votes, every other print has sold more than X+1 shirts)
