Aww... I loves it. I love the seal. And the expression on the My Little Pony is great. She's totally the office grumble and/or bemoan fate. You can tell. I like, I like, I like.

Re: The Battle Wages On

Such a fun shirt! The irony of this shirt is I'm sure tgentry had to think about drawing like an average bloke while sketching this design out. I imagine the drawings he does on work documents are far superior to this one. GMV!

Re: The Choice Was Not Hard

Thanks for the comment on my design. I really like yours as well, and for the record, I think you made a great choice to go with the asymmetry. It makes the shirt work. You want the viewer's eye to read the tall list of fantasticness first, then the short sign and the kid making the decision. Any other organization wouldn't be as hilarious. Well done, my friend!

Re: Honey, I'm Home

This is really well done, the details all work, the talent is obviously there, I am staying out of the "re-submission" part of the discussion, because I don't remember how close or different this one is compared to the previous one - it certainly looks loike it fits the theme though!

I *DO* have one question I have been wanting to ask: What's with the Zombies? Why do people tend to want Zombies, to vote for Zombies? Nothing personal, seriously, you did good work, but Zombies are just kinda, well... Ewwwwww to me. Why do so many people want to wear Zombies? Someone please tell me the appeal!

Thanks. Now if you could just get about 50 of your friends to come vote, too...that would be great.

trappleton wrote:This is brilliant! Wonderful theme and color, and it's smart and just esoteric enough! I'd say this is my favorite in this week's derby.

With the recent drought of votes I'm thinking it's perhaps a bit too esoteric, eh? Still, the fact that some people "get it" is encouraging. Thanks for the comment!

This is based on my dad - he used to say he was going to retire to a farm, so he could be outstanding in his field every day.
If the idea wasn't as original as I hoped, at least the execution was.

Re: Modern Day Sisyphus

Hey Srglancy - I was just reading your thread and you appear to be talented and awesomely diplomatic, so you've got my vote. I work with adults with disabilities and know a guy who does carts at walmart and he actually refers to himself as a modern-day sisyphus, forever moving carts all day, every day. Nice shirt, if it gets printed, I'll get him one.

(Although, between this one (if printed) and "New Kid In Town" I wonder whether other parents will start casting concerned looks my direction ...)

If parents cast a concerned look your direction, then that's because they aren't parents. Every parent says that exact same phrase 3 days after the child is born. Okay, one exception... i think the guy who posted 3 posts earlier likely said it 4 days after... but that's not the point.

This design makes me think of my late father who gave me 2 pieces of advice when I graduated High School:
1. The best time to look for a job is when you've got a job
2. Get a job
I'd buy this one (and i'm a parent). I'd buy it as a onesie for my daughter. I'd buy one for some friends who have a 4 year old and are expecting their second.

this is a great shirt design
