i understand their reasoning...it's a pretty conservative and "safe" decision. my guess is that it looks a little too much like he's being crucified. however, i don't think that many of the uptight Christians who would take offense to this shirt are woot! members. i'm an evangelical christian myself and i think it's an absolute riot. if i can't have it as a shirt, i want it as my desktop background.
by the way, lunchboxbrain, way to take the rejection with dignity. that's very classy of you.

I love the design, but it would be even better if it were a bit bigger. IMHO, the top of the design should be further up the left shoulder. But nonetheless, great work! GMV!

You'd be surprised. There have been daily threads about how people won't buy for a pentagram. most random threads are peppered with no-buys for the price being the number of the beast. there have certainly been plenty of armchair chickenhawk comments during various shirts that weren't american enough. and while shirt.woot's brain-hub is elsewhere, woot itself started in TX. Not to mention how bland and safe most derby winners end up being. I think the bible belt's ridiculously gaudy buckle is more evident at woot than you'd presume.

You take a serious movie, an academy award winner for best picture, Kramer Vs. Kramer...

and mash it up with the obvious and accidental similarity in name to Seinfeld's Kramer...

and further mash it up with the (what I felt was) obvious titular structural similarity to Mad Magazine's Spy Vs. Spy...

and, voila, you have wacky humor beloved by thousands.

By the way, the entries for Napoleon Dynamite and The Rocky Horror Picture Show contain characters that, man, sure look familiar also. Yet they haven't been rejected.

So is there an Official Appeals Process? Or does one just resubmit the same artwork with a posted comment added as appeal? Or is one just out of luck?


I know there's no chance in Hackensack of winning the derby. It's just the principle of the matter.

And if there are other designs that haven't been rejected, it is probably due to no one having tattled yet, or woot missing them. It doesn't make them wrong for rejecting you. It makes them wrong for NOT rejecting THEM. Though let me say, Napoleon is gonna be a harder sell than Rocky to get rejected. Especially since these were real people being rendered in cartoon form, while yours were cartoons drawn to look identical to other cartoons.

This design is nice. I like the simple sketchiness of it.

On another note, I watched Cloverfield last night. It was not nice. It was one of the worst movies I think I've ever seen.

I didn't see the first version, but i really like this version of Napoleon Dynamite. The Chucks are a great touch.

What's the white thing in front of the jaws? It's a little confusing.

It's a deer jaw. I think it's from a deer. there's a third jaw on the left, from some predator- maybe a fox, or a skunk, not sure. too big for a house cat. the one in front is less moved, so it isn't color changed. I took the pictures and made them 3D by combining the red channel of one with the blue and green from a shifted different picture. a fun exercise.

Thank you, Micha66 - he was taller and had no gold outline. Some veteran wooters let me know that black doesn't show up on Navy, so I put a gold outline around him.
