Re: Pan-ic

One for the etymologists! Pan, the great god of woods and nature, has only to blow on his conch to send all who listened into a panic - all who heard were struck by a terrible, unreasoning fear, and fled!
It was interesting drawing this today, I asked several of my family what colour panic was, and got a myriad of different answers...none of which I used in the end (but all of which were very interesting), for the panic spiraling from Pan's conch.
In the end I chose what looked good to my eye...the thin trickle of panic from the unblown conch spirals around, looking for victims even before the main event! That thready feeling in your chest...trickling in and starting to mount as Pan raises his conch to sound out the panic!
