Re: I Am Phelps

This is really good, but one thing irks me - the ribbons don't quite match up. The medals to either side seem like they have short ribbons on one side and really, really long ones on the other, because of the way you've laid them out. I can't quite explain it, it just sort of makes it look awkward.

This is going to be rejected. Woot can only print front OR back; not both.

Woot can't print all the way up to the collar.

ebonyglider wrote:Why wouldn't this be legal? There was a shirt with Zelda stuff on it a little while ago.

Isn't the mere shape of Mickey Mouse's head owned by Disney? Just the lack of text doesn't change the obvious recognizability of the Game Boy. Woot rejected a shirt for using the power button, for Pete's sake. I had a shirt rejected for looking similar to Dr. Suess' characters. This ought to easily be rejected, and when you consider I had a design rejected out of the fog for looking too much like a van Gogh painting, which was certainly not even under copyright, it's hard to justify this staying.

BootsBoots wrote:Yeah, the texture's really good. It's not so apparent on the detail, though. After I clicked, I thought "wow!" It's the fading out at the sides that makes it good.

thanks! i tried about 4 different methods before i found one that worked for the texture. definitely the hardest part of this design.

Cheer up Fabes! It's all in good fun. At least on my part it is.

Banter is healthy! It invigorates the mind and body! And it tastes better than that smelly cod liver oil.

Hilarious!

That being said, I'll probably buy the Game Boy shirt. Note to self: blatantly pander to nerd nostalgia next entry.

Well, I see a lot of detail that is finer than woot's own stated limit of 1 point, thinner than which their screens will not print.

I sized your detail of the bat's head to the shirt design size and drew a 1 point yellow line on it:

I believe that the bat, which is impressive, is just too finely detailed for a woot shirt.

Thanks for pointing that out, this is my first entry (well technically second, I had originally submitted this as a simple vector work) so I was bound to get something wrong. I really don't think it matters anyway, mine is nowhere near as good as some of the ones on here, so it is really unlikely that I would make it into the top ten. I was just happy to enter the derby, it was fun making this too, expect to see me here with a submission every week now.

Pretty much, sadly, yeah... usually comes out when people think that rules are not being followed and Woot is ignoring the rule breakers.

Exactly. I like the fact that his journey will appear all that more difficult by having to scale the Mammary Mountains. Depending on placement, however, I worry poor Jack might be totally lost in the shadow of said boob and won't be seen again. Although, that might add to the funny. Either way, GMV.
