rachel1aaron wrote:Hey, thought I'd add my .02 to this debate. I have no clue about the character/game this is based on. But because there are plenty of others who do recognize this, I think that the choice to use this design is legit. The point of a Halloween costume is to represent something recognizable. Whether this is "creative" is up to the viewer.

Re: Yabba Dabba Doo!

I wouldn't wear this - I don't think a lot of women will - but I most certainly VOTED for this because it REALLY follows the theme of Shirt-as-a-costume. IMMEDIATELY you know who / what this is supposed to be. It is very very well done.

I agree.... the copyright deal-io this derby seems like a very sticky ground, so I don't know how it stands on there, but Andy.. I enjoy this shirt.

Also, FANTASTIC use of orange. Love it. :D

Because nintendo doesnt copyright their buttons and screens, duh. If there was text on the shirt then it would be rejected but there isnt.

Re: Joe The Plumber

This is hysterical and very well done! I LOVE the stitching!

Sure, it is a short lived "joke" (commentary), but people buy political Tees and Bumper Stickers all the time, and those are certainly "dated" materials. And heck, this is only $10, not out of line at all for that type of thing.

Definitely GMV

what do you mean 60 days? there was a shirt on tee fury from the recent text derby. the rules around here can be very arbitrary; cho's penguins are the best example.

i'm bummed. i really wanted to wear this to school next week on halloween (jr. high teacher).

I was thinking maybe a different color combo will get more votes...Choose which one you think is best! (Also look for my version in orange)

Awesome shirt, but the slide's done wrong on the shirt. It's actually a 22 step dance.

They don't copyright them, but they do trademark them. They get design trademarks on various shapes and configurations that define the product. The Game Boy design was officially trademarked in 1992, but it's not an active trademark anymore. It expired in 2003. Hope this helps clear things up.

llo - yeah, i think my sense of humor is on a blurry line between ironically ridiculous and actually ridiculous, and sometimes the difference is indistinguishable. Like if i dress up as a payphone, am i being intentionally boring, or do i think i'm great but i'm actually boring?

And thanks for the purchases! I'm glad you like the designs.
