I was thinking the same thing. For whatever reason people really like the fish shirts.

I love everything about this shirt.
I just can't see wearing it.
Also I dislike the color...

it's a kids book. I had to read it in an advanced english 9 class in high school and my classmates parents all got mad because we were in an advanced class reading a book that was a 5th grade reading level. We got switched to a different teacher the 2nd semester.

Great design! Very cute.

I think that's how most people hold their pencils. I'm a lefty myself and it's definitely how I hold mine. Plus as a lefty I have to bend my wrist a bit more so that I don't smudge what I've just written. It would be weird if someone held a pen or pencil with the top pointing at their body. Not sure if this was designed with lefties in mind, but it looks pretty accurate to me.

DeadFrog wrote:Firstly, the lion could never be Aslan. It's too cute. The witch is green, not white. Also, any actual cover for this book would feature the four children involved in some magically symbolic adventure. Perhaps not overly clever or original, but certainly not fit to be a cover illustration.

What I tried to do here is to create what I pictures as a child when my father told me he would be reading the book to me. I also wanted an iconic design that might take people several seconds to translate but ultimately grant them the easy payoff for solving this simple poctographic puzzle.

Well said. And it works nicely as a shirt. GMV.

We are talking about The Giver, referring to the dystopian novel, right? I know it's not exactly rigorous reading material, but knowing what I read in my Pre-AP Honors English Class in 9th Grade, it could easily meet those criteria.

I also wouldn't label a 5th grade level book (I think I read it in 3rd) as a children's book.

Thanks everyone! I know why I don't get votes, my style doesn't always allow for a great looking T... My stuff may not be "Soft" enough for allot of people! No matter I will keep at the wheel and get some exposure for when I get my act togeather and get a store up.

What finally sold me on this shirt was when I realized that it would be relatively light on ink b/c of how often you use the shirt color. Good job, loopy, GMV.

Not gonna lie, at first glance I thought the trickle of melting butter was a sperm tail. I was quite confused. But then I understood what it actually is and had myself a good chuckle.
Besides that, the idea of making the mitt out of the butter was a good one.

Re: Inspired by A Wrinkle in Time

I like the concept a lot, but those halftones on the wrinkle don't really do it for me. On the other hand, not being a T-shirt designer myself, I can't really offer any constructive feedback as to how I think it might be improved :/ Other than those two lines though, I think it is a great concept/execution.

I'm honestly really surprised that this isn't getting more votes. I think it must have something to do with the fact that it was submitted rather late relatively and the whole name recognition issue because it truly is an excellent design!

DEATH TO DISCO!

nice shirt. i like blood, so this is a good shirt for me to wear. because of the blood. i like it. is there anyway you could lower the design a little bit on the shirt? i was thinking it would cool for a pregnant lady to have the bloody disco ball protruding from her belly. think about it.
