Really neat work on this one. Not sure if I'd wear it, but I have no fashion sense anyways.

Good one Blammoed!!! The resub might have hurt a little, but I admire you trying to provide what you feel is a better version for the Wooters.

Just a quick last-minute shirt I did for fun I wanted to do something simple but visually pleasing, hopefully I succeeded.

I don't think it's lazy at all personally. Because he used a drawing book as his book that's lazy? You seem to have repeated that several times but haven't explained why you think that. To me it doesn't even make sense.

I think it's quite a thoughtful take on what was otherwise a rather thoughtless derby. I'd go so far as to say it's the least lazy design idea in the fog. Using two fish to illustrate One Fish, Two Fish is not lazy? Putting a lion and a witch and a wardrobe on a shirt to illustrate The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe is not lazy? The Call of the Wild, pretty as it is, has a fairly standard idea/composition going for it. Drawing a hairy potter for Harry Potter isn't lazy? If you are really so outspoken against lazy designs, why aren't you going after those? The fact that you aren't speaks volumes to me. Thinking of something that twenty other people aren't also doing isn't lazy, it's thoughtful, and I appreciate it as such.

I look forward to getting one for me and for my mom, who is also a lefty and will appreciate it. :-)

If you want to apologize to him, that's great, and I'd commend you for it, but just backpedaling on what you said is weak. You weren't calling the design lazy, you were calling the designer lazy.

My point still stands. In this design the artist is being lazy. Is that too "sub-human" for your understanding? Thanks for joining the discussion after it's been settled there, cheif [sic].

ahhh, I think I was looking for something blue so I missed it, definitely never saw that one...I realize we used a similar approach, but I think it's safe to say they are different enough not to be an issue.

I'm glad you know me so well.

"Lazy" is self-explanatory, and (surprise surprise!) subjective... just like one's impression of t-shirt designs. If you need clarification, please read my comments above as you'll see I've already spoken with several other people, thoroughly explaining my perspective (some even managed to it do by *not* insulting me first!).

This is so lovely. Right down to that adorable light fixture. I love how the monster is playing the little violin. It seems so sweet! And I love the expression on the child's face (and the way you've set up the whole scene as well).

I've read your posts and you've literally backed up your comments with nothing. You don't respond to any responses directly (i.e. you didn't explain why you aren't attacking far lazier entries, only this one), you simply fall back on being a "victim" of attacks. The only thing you've said that even sounded like an "explanation" was this:

"Using a book about drawings as an illustration is lazy and its no better than using a paint-by-numbers book to show off your skills in color-theory."

It's an analogy that doesn't even make sense in regards to this design. A proper analogy would be if someone drew an illustration out of their own head of a paint by numbers drawing, then put in numbers that if filled in would show off their color theory skills. It's taking a concept and adding a twist to it. That's NOT lazy, regardless of what your 'subjective' take on it is.Your poor analogy suggests that tgentry just took a drawing out of a book and put his name on it. Since you know that isn't the case I wonder why you even said it other than you had nothing to back up any of your comments.

It's a shame a successful design like this gets attacked simply because it's successful.

Looks pretty obvious from the rest of the comments that the 'using something hairy at a pottery wheel' is concept is understandably common. The small details, styled illustration and clever twist on this idea is what makes this entry interesting. Thanks for making your first post completely devoid of content.

You, sir, are a jerk. Ryfiel remembered a similar design. Riffmaster didn't see such design after going through the referenced derby. I provided a link to the design that Ryfiel remembered and Riffmaster didn't find. Mystery solved. Although the mystery of why your response to that link was pretentious and condescending will, alas, remain but a mystery. But thanks for making me feel so welcome after my very first post here.
