Just saying.

I'll take the risk of looking stupid and say that I don't quite understand how this relates to the derby theme of "beginning". Personally, I think it would fit better with the theme of the "cabin fever" derby.

It also seems very similar to other shirts out there that illustrate the whole "there's all this stuff in my head just dying to get out" idea. I'm sorry if that's not what you were going for, but that's what I see when I look at it.

Besides that, I won't be voting for/buying this shirt because I just don't wear black shirts. Nothing against you for that one, it's just my thing.

I like the idea, but it's not something I'd wear on a shirt...that, and I am in the "phoenixes are overdone" camp. I do enjoy how this is not quite your typical phoenix shirt, however...so nice job there.

Okay I just looked through the past eight Derbies and I only found one printed Phoenix, one non-printed Phoenix and one non-printed design that had a very small Phoenix included in the composition.

Now there were a whole lot more dragons, chicken and eggs, penguins, etc than Phoenixes.

Re: Genesis in the Mind

I feel bad for all the koi that got thrown at you in the pre-derby forum. But then again, you did just get, like, 2 grand this past month for drawing things and posting them on a website, so I can't feel all that bad for you. :P

At least you're getting paid for your 15+ hours of derby work. I feel like I'm just entering these derbies now to keep me distracted from the nothing I have to do with my month off.

Re: The epic begins

What a clever twist on the Ninja Turtles! Oh wait, it's practically a direct shot from the movie with absolutely nothing added. But it's distressed! Who cares if there's no thought or creativity involved beyond putting a scene from a movie on a shirt!

Shame on all of you for giving this design any credit at all.

DOOD! I swear, whenever people need to name a character they've created who's evil or bitter (or gassy), the chosen name is always Fred, Kevin, or Lord Voldemort.

its only logical.

the most evil figures ever to exist in real life or in literary works

Fred Flintstone
Kevin Bacon

Lord Voldemort was actually j ust misunderstood.

...

I wrote a short story about Fred.

Fred hated everyone.
He hated more that everyone loved his farts.
He didn't want anyone to be happy, but damnit, his farts made everyone smile.
It didn't matter what he ate, rainbow farts just came on coming.

Damnit.

Also, he regretted getting those g a y star tattoos that one time he got drunk. He should have gotten a badass Danzig tat.

I've never actually seen any of the Ninja Turtle movies. I led a sheltered childhood--we didn't watch anything that wasn't rated G. I do know that the scene from the original comic books is very different from this design.

A broken canister of "ooze" with four little turtles crawling around it. That's the scene from the movie, which is exactly what you have here. The comic book has the four turtles covered with ooze with a broken canister next to them. What then in this design is your idea?
