Thanks, dude. I think the gradients would print great- I've gotten a few shirts with more graded gradients (although not from woot). Also the shirt is light and there's no need for an under-printing of white AND the ink color is sort of similar to the shirt color so, any stray dots or what-have-you- would be ok, too.

But let's see if that's even relevant- there are lots of good designs this week...

HeartlineTwist wrote:I'm confused by the rubber rafts and life jackets...hrmm...

Well, I just wanted to make it a whimsical and fun image, since it's alternate history and all- I felt that the life jackets were an easy way to differentiate between the people who would be safe and those that wouldn't, and the life boats were an easy to recognize image that could also tie in with the titanic theme- I chose to sacrifice historic accuracy for the sake of the image by creating easily recognizable symbols, since it's not a historic picture anyway. Hopefully that makes some sense?

eHalcyon wrote:I disagree. This is a blank shirt. If this was the alternate history as you described it, you should have drawn an unrejected blank shirt for your design.

I thought we already figured out a way for you to get cheap blank shirts, and that you finally understood that a blank design is NOT a design and unsuitable for a design contest. Serioiusly - despite how many people thought you were just trolling, I decided to give you the benefit of the doubt and help you out.

So... now you're just trolling. I'm not surprised, but I can't say I'm not disappointed. =\

Indeed we did! And we found it he's a guy, which makes it even easier to find blank shirts. So I wanna see an entry titled, "what if Sheneron wasn't an genius?"

Rockem Sockem Robots are part of actual history. In this alternate version, they were created 50 feet tall. America considered this a threat and thus genetically engineered a giant Godzilla-esque creature (but it's not Godzilla) and sent it to take down the giant robots.

Or maybe that's just a dinosaur that survived. Japan created 50 story rockem sockem robots for defense.

Darn you all to HECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you like the shirt, tried to skew the images to give it a more abstract fashionable feel and also to avoid possible copyright argumentation from my nemesises nemisooses nemiseese uhhhhh....Not sure about the plural there, but in any event, thanks for votes and feedback!

PS - Sorry about that rectangle, that's what I get for trying to take a shortcut...

Re: It was the Apes all Along! Darn them all to Heck!

Looks like you forgot to hide the background navy layer - you can see the big rectangular block on the shirt comp. Given the reaction this happened last time, you might want to resub.

Although since this straight from the book/movie (it is, right?), it's probably rejection bait, even though it IS an alternate history. Bon chance, monsieur.

Re: Dinosaurs Who Are Communist for Some Reason

there are at least 15 dinosaur pictures in this derby. is it really possible that this is among the best three t-shirt designs relating an alternate history? of the (very) few shirts that actually do relate anything remotely historical (dinosaurs surviving and joining the communist party is not one of those) clearly started with the "artist" googling "history," finding a famous photograph and changing the colors of the flag - or something along those unoriginal lines. sadly, even those shirts are superior to any shirt claiming to alternate history by imagining dinosaurs doing human things. this entire derby failed miserably because of a total lack of historical knowledge and creativity. this is laziness and ignorance at its worst.

Re: National Turkey

COMMENTS APPRECIATED (I had trouble deciding on colors and it is currently black ink on a grass tshirt.)

Suppose Benjamin Franklin had pushed harder to get the Turkey as the National Bird and he got his way? Would the US great seal look like this?

Franklin's Letter to His Daughter (excerpt)

"For my own part I wish the Bald Eagle had not been chosen the Representative of our Country. He is a Bird of bad moral Character. He does not get his Living honestly. You may have seen him perched on some dead Tree near the River, where, too lazy to fish for himself, he watches the Labour of the Fishing Hawk; and when that diligent Bird has at length taken a Fish, and is bearing it to his Nest for the Support of his Mate and young Ones, the Bald Eagle pursues him and takes it from him.

"With all this Injustice, he is never in good Case but like those among Men who live by Sharping & Robbing he is generally poor and often very lousy. Besides he is a rank Coward: The little King Bird not bigger than a Sparrow attacks him boldly and drives him out of the District. He is therefore by no means a proper Emblem for the brave and honest Cincinnati of America who have driven all the King birds from our Country . . .

"I am on this account not displeased that the Figure is not known as a Bald Eagle, but looks more like a Turkey. For the Truth the Turkey is in Comparison a much more respectable Bird, and withal a true original Native of America . . . He is besides, though a little vain & silly, a Bird of Courage, and would not hesitate to attack a Grenadier of the British Guards who should presume to invade his Farm Yard with a red Coat on."
